then he can wait. trying to sterilize pins is rediculous and you risk an infection. boiling does not kill all pathogens alcohol may help but under the microscope a pin is very rough and the alcohol wont get everything.
it wont hurt to wait or go to a damn pharmacy but reuseing pins is not smart. no flame intended to those who do but i stand by my opinion
I hear what your saying and I agree you do run some risk. However, I was just giving my personal experience. Back in the day I used to have to reuse because it was hard to get them and I would use the boil and the alcohol and I personally never had any probs. But like you said, there is risk. But then again, there is risk with gear use in and of itself. So, I guess it's just a matter of chance. Do you chance it or not? That's the question.

After watching a friend who is diabetic use the same needle several times a day and has been doing this for years I'm a little less worried about it myself. To each their own....
Also, who uses the same needle to draw and shoot? I sure as hell don't
right- theres no point of doing that..I recently went to the doctor and he gave me a shot with the same needle that he drew from..kinda bugged me out that i knew not to do that and he didnt.
Good point, however I dont use the same pins to draw that I do to inject. I take an 18 to draw and then change it out. I'm gonna boil it for a couple minutes, then soak it in alcohol for a couple minutes, then take a quater CC or alcohol into the syringe and push it through the needle. I'm sure this will take care of everything.
Thanks guys.
Your orig thread on this topic you said you had a shot due the next day and no needles till monday would make me think you were going to re-use correct?sorry if i mis-understood just tying to help because its bad enough your using gear ...let alone boiling a needle thats so easy to get 'just be patient bro Ive been doing this for a-long time I've made a long of mistakes and learned the hard way!!!

Iam trying to understand what your point really is because you should never take chances the way you have..You have said I basically dont know what Iam saying and everything I stated was false well I got news for you bro I'am not wrong and you telling this guy its O.K.is not good practice if he or you ever need pokes I will get them for you ,I live in Indiana and got friends in pharmacies its legal here!!!

Inter-muscular and sub Q two different things think about it!
Thank you Razor for your input......... Who are you to judge me for using gear anyhow ?? No one here knows what they're talking about and its great that you show up and put us in our place.

No bro, you misunderstood me. I didn't mean to say you were wrong or that you were saying false things. I just gave my 'personal' experience. My 'personal' experience has yeiled absolutely NO probs from reusing needles. So therefore, I am not wrong in stating my 'personal' experience. Also, I clearly stated that it was 'back in the day', in other words I used to reuse a long time ago. Curently, I only use the same needle to hit bis (1/2 cc each) and I will until I see evidence that it 'will' cause probs. Maybe and possibly are things for chance. Absolutes are things I take in to account. If there is scientific proof that reusing a needle 'will' cause issues then I would say never ever do it. However, I have known hundreds of gear users who have all at one time or another had to reuse and NONE of them EVER had an issue. And I'm talking about guys who used a pin and then saved it to use again next week and never had issues. Hell, back in the day I've went through a dozens pins and couldn't get anymore and boiled and alcoholed the ones I had a resued them all with no issue. So, there is no 'absolute' in risk. Now, with that said, do I recommend reusing as a common practice? Hell no! I never said it was ok to make it common practice. I just gave the guy an example of what I had done when in his situation. I hope you understand my point now. I do not consider reusing needles to be smart common practice, but I also have never 'personally' seen or had any probs from doing so. I hope I didn't not come off the wrong way, just trying to better explain myself the best I can.
Well said T-Man, that's the whole jist of this thread to begin with. It is not common practice to do this, but it can be done if need be. Reps for you.

Thanks bro! By the way, did you do it or not? LOL

my post was not directed at you bro. but shooting a new pin has very minimal risk where as shooting a used one the chances of infection grow exponentially
