I think it varies on the person and how hard you keep on training and your diet as well. From looking at an effectiveness chart out of a scale from 1 to 5 Test E got a 2 for ability to keep gains.

        Re: Keeping my gains?

I agree, with the exception of rating it for its ability to keep gains. It's not up to par with HGH, which actually helps create new cells, versus "inflating" existing cells, as is the case w/Test.

Here's my PCT (thanks to my bro, Del)

First off keep your cycles to no longer than 10-12weeks.
Get the majority of your gains in the first 6weeks.
Taper off the last two weeks with test prop only to allow for the halflife of longer esters.

        For PCT:
Depending upon your cycle, HCG may or may not be necessary... if you are running reasonable dosages and are young you probably will not need it. but if you've got a few cycles under your belt and are running higher dosages or are running very androgenic drugs such as tren, HCG is an excellent addition. the following PCT is for such a cycle.

HCG at 2500 IU every 4days for 16days.
        50mg of clomid for 30days.
        20mg of nolvadex for 45days.
        500mg Dhea for 30days.
20g of glutamine at a min.
        high protein intake.
clenbuterol run for 45days (run with ketotifen)

Keep the weights up, train less, rest more... and EAT... diet is for later. if you follow this, you will not only keep your hard earned gains but if done properly you will gain weight.

Who is Del and what is his reasoning in having HCG and DHEA as part of PCT?

Every1 has a different opinions..but what worked with me:

i waited 2 weeks after my last shot and i started clomid 50 mg a day for 30 days.
hcg 1000 ius every 5 days for 30 days.
5 ius of slin for 30 days...

i ate a lot , kept my protein/carbs/calorie high and kept on lifting heavy...

p.s: u don't need to add slin to the pct..i did coz i was doing a lot of stuff

                          Del's a bro I know.

                          - DHEA is works in conjunction with Clomid, to kickstart your body's endogynous Testosterone production

                          - HCG's function is to stimulate gonadal steroid hormones by causing the production of androgens in the testis. It mimics the body's own natural LH. Bottom line, get the boys back on line as quickly as possible. Do you NEED HCG? Nope, not at all. Did I personally get great results (measured by retention of gains) - you bet!

I just haven't seen them used all together in PCT. DHEA is a sex hormone precursor, but I have not done the research to see if it is effective supplementing it if natural production is not up yet.

I thought I read somewhere that HCG is not wise to use during PCT, but for the life of me, I can not remember why. I have a bad memory. Maybe someone will chime in on this.

edvdr was saying hcg is not good during pct...let him chime in since i disagree...but wt a test cycle , hcg is not required at all
