  • GH and sugar substitutes?!?!?

    OK guys-feedback and info please!!
I am a 31 y.o female, started GH 12 days ago 1 IU ED for therapeutic and some fitness benefits. Bigtime water retention. I know to avoid sugar, eat clean, etc.
Here's the interesting part-a guy told me today I should be avoiding not just sugar, but sugar substitutes as well. (No more Equal or Splenda in my tea )
Has anyone else heard this? What are your thoughts, and any other hints on the bloat? I've heard in females it can take a month for the water retention to subside.
    Thanks!

Sugar substitutes aren't going to cause water retention on GH more than anything else that you'll eat.

Thanks CJ-I thought it seemed odd! The bloat has subsided a bit now-14 days on. If anyone has heard anything else about it let me know!

Before i answered ur question....i need to know what type of growth are u doing, coz gh are not teh same as far for the dosages..some of em are 1.3 mg, 4.5 mg, 5.0 mg and so fourth......
gh usually doesn't give ya boat unless u hit 8 ius a day and that is for the men...
I never heard that but u need some sugar in ur body coz gh will make u sleepy and it's not a good thing.....

It's Jintropin, 1 IU ED. The bloat is beginning to subside now-14 days out. It's pretty interesting, the side effects and results seem to vary a lot between women and men-I've heard the water retention is pretty common in women and it can take 1 to several months to see results and also be more careful with diet ...I'm curious to hear your response-I know you are also taking Jino with awesome results and I saw you eat Snickers!! I'm so jealous! It seems like the Splenda/Equal thing is screwy though-itjust doesn't make sense when you look at the body's response to sugar substitute vs real sugar.

            Thanks!

              Re: GH and sugar substitutes?!?!?

Women generally show bloating in areas such as abdomen, wrists, ankles, and in the buccal fat when taking GH supplementation. But it will generally subside after an equilibrium is achieved with the GH production inhibition.

Sugar substitutes on GH wouldn't have more of an effect on bloating than it would without GH. The decreased insulin sensitivity will lead to varying sugar levels, but the sugar substitutes won't be affected by those levels.

Just as an aside; who told you about sugar substitutes and GH? was it just someone at the gym, or someone who has taken GH consistently? Just wondering.

Sugar substitutes aren't the best thing to be taking in all the time, but they haven't been shown to be inherently harmful either. When dieting they're great to have on hand though. For a truly healthy diet, i don't think they should be included.

I agree that artificial sweeteners are not the best, but they are nice to have in small amounts.

The person that I heard that from is someone who has taken GH-but I'm not sure how consistently or how much research he had actually done. It didn't make sense to me, but I figured I'd ask those in the know!

Thanks Mike-yes, 10 on the slin pin. I'd appreciate any feedback from your girls!

Also GP-I'm starting to wonder myself about the aspartame. Splenda is my sweetner of choice, but most stuff has aspartame in it. I'm wondering the the decreased bloat was me avoiding sugar substitutes, my body beginning to accomodate to the GH, or a combo (most likely scenario) Thanks again!

                        Re: GH and sugar substitutes?!?!?

OK, I'm back to a feeling like a water balloon. I think it's because I had a business lunch yesterday where I had a chopped salad-there was deli either chicken or turkey and I'm sure that had a load of sodium. Yikes! Does anyone know why the water retention with GH in women, the mechanism? Also, I have some Taraxatone on hand-would that help, or should I just keep drinking water by the gallon?
                        Thanks!

Thanks Mike-and thanks to your girls. My body will take any excuse to hold extra water-it's always a battle . Now it's just a little tougher! It's amazibg how much sodium is in everything...thanks again!
