No doctor would even prescribe accutaine if you tell then that you're on a cycle. So draw your conclusions there.

From personal experience, I took 50 20mg tabs of IP accutaine, after my two cycles this summer, which made an already very bad acne into the most grotesque cyctic acne on my body. Part of it I speculate that I am EXTREMELY allergic and sensitive to clomid. I took Accutaine and it made my cysts worse, but once I was done with the 50 tabs and all orals for around a month, my acne went away....ALL of it. I am on Test/Tren/EQ right now, for 8 weeks, and seldom get a tiny lil pimple here and there when I dont wash for like a day...shit works...and I'm glad, I can finally take my shirt off again and show people what a real man supposed to look like!

Most probably wouldn't prescribe you asprin if you tell them you are on AAS.

not following you. your friends have aas prescribed and the doc asks about tane, or they have tane prescribed and the doc asks about aas. if the later, i don't doubt it. when i went in it took months to get it because they kept saying just get off aas and the acne will clear up. but who wants to do that.

the docs don't want to do it because then their ass is on the line if anything happens - Plaintiff's Attorney: "And you went ahead an precribed _______ even knowing that my client was on steroids? Are you aware of the drug interactions with steroids? So you did't really know what the effects would be did you?" And that gets you to medically negligent.

thanks everbody will stay off till end of this month already been of aas for five month whats a couple more weeks. tell you though this s--t drained me out lost 30lbs while on acutane

Not to discount your sources, because you do at least have them, but let's put them into context:

1. Lawmakers "call" for things all the time that never happen. Nothing in your sources say anything other than that a few members of congress called for a ban. Even then, the "ban" was really just pulling it off the market until the FDA put its new safeguards into action. There is nothing about pulling it off the market permanently.

2. And more relevant, if you look at the date on all of these stories about lawmakers calling for action (or a ban) they are back in October - one month BEFORE the FDA announced its intention to improve restrictions as a result of the February 2004 conference. The congressional members who were calling for a ban were doing so because the FDA had not implemented its own recommendations from 8 months earlier.

They aren't going to ban Accutane (or at least I haven't seen anything to suggest they will) they just want to make sure the proper safeguards are in place. People have been "calling" for a ban on Accutane since 1988 - it hasn't happened yet (which obviously doesn't mean it can't happen - just that there has been no compelling evidence that it should happen.).

Quoting you, "it hasn't happened yet". This is the ONLY point I am making. GP stated that is will be banned, and in a few more words, you say the same (yet). Whether the "relevence" of the subject is proven, that is definately not up to government to decide, just the control.

I said "yet" in the same way that Brooke Burke hasn't broken my door down to sexually assault me - yet.

Good point here. Accutane will shrink the sebacious glands to help reduce acne... BUT... if you already have mild-severe cycstic acne it will make it worse initially. The trapped and infected fluids already built up will be agravated by the drug. There are two ways to combat this:
1. Ease into the max dose (usually around 40mg 2X a day) over several weeks.
2. Run oral antibiotics (minocycline) for several weeks until the exsisting acne clears up and then go to the accutane.
***keep in mind both drugs cause intercranial swelling which can lead to headaches, nausea, diziness... so discontinue one for a few days at least before starting the other.***

You won't be using "tane" through a dermatologist. It is going on the FDA banned list.

I'm 6 months into my 7 month accutane treatment right now and have not heard that rumor. Where did you hear it? My doc did mention that they are going to be more strict with it, but not ban it. That would be a terrible decision imo because it is indeed a AWESOME treatment, aside from a few sides like dry skin and nose bleeds.

Ok, I was a bit haste. I see the article you were referring to GP, but I doubt those calls for a ban will ever be recognized.
