Re: How long of a cycle do you prefer?

Almost, this is a good thread. You've accurately pointed out that within the realm of anabolic bodybuilding, there are differing goals and certainly many, many differing schools of thought.

Before I respond further, anyone who tees off" on your comment, should probably take a step back and try to understand that what you're presenting is a philosophy. You're not right, you're not wrong, you have clear goals in mind and you seem to understand what it takes to achieve those goals.

My goals are certainly to get bigger and stronger, but, I'm not shooting for Mr. O-type of freakiness. I couldn't do it if I tried. I know enough about myself to say that I proably lack the discipline, the dedication and the desire to endure what I would need to endure to get there. Doesn't make me a bad guy, doesn't mean that I'm wasting my time with AAS. You underline this point when you say "Nothing is without a price the question is what price are you willing to play".

I've been training most of my adult life however, I only started using steroids about six years ago, when I was 35. I had decided that I had gone as far as I could naturally, my goals still weren't met, and that AAS were a logical next step for me. I've always had a long-term prespective. I was about 180 back then, and I'm cruising at about 245, now, a much leaner 245, I should add. BTW, my goal, other than to get stronger, bigger, is to hit 300lbs/< 10% BF.

Actually, if you reread my post, you'll see that I'm not disagreeing with you all that much. The first point I was making as far as keeping gains, was just to point out that if anyone, regardless of their approach to anabolic bodybuilding, is losing that much of their gains, they are doing something wrong. That's not really a comment on long-term cycling,at all.

The second point, was that from what I've READ, not from personal experience, bringing the boys back after 6-12 months of being shut down seems to take longer. The point I made about the long-term effects of being shut down that long, is an opinion based on nothing, but my fear of, "what if I'm right?".

I agree 100% with your assertion that in order to look "Mr. O freakish", it's gonna take more than a few 10-12 week cycles here and there.

Please don't feel defensive. I think that you're asking good questions, and brining into light a very valid approach to anabolic bodybuilding. But, it's not for everyone.

I'm interested to hear what others have to say about this topic.

Oh, and congrats on your amazing recovery. You, unlike me, clearly have what it takes to achieve your particular goal in this game!

It's alllll good, Mikey! We're essentially saying the same thing - pro competitors need to go above and beyond what the average anabolic bodybuilder does. Tren all year long is fucking insane - period, I don't care who you are.

I'm seriously considering staying on GH year-round, actually. I want to see how my current cycle goes, if all goes well, and I don't have any unforseen problems with GH, I'll prolly stay on 2ius ED while off cycle.

Re: How long of a cycle do you prefer?

This is a very good thread indeed. It just goes to show there are no set rules in using aas. I know that I will stay with the realitively shorter type of cycles because I can achieve what I'm after by doing it that way. I want people to say boy that guys pretty big not that guys a huge freak. To each his own. And I admire everyones individual goals. Like blink said I also would not have the dicipline to be on for a year or more. But it does sound like with the right know how things can be safely done for long periods of time which makes me feel even better about the cycles I do. And Almost, I still need aas to even reach my goals simply because like many I'm not genetically gifted at all in which I believe you must be in the first place to be able and reach the freaky status.
Please more responses because I do enjoy this thread.

I do not condone long cycles for the casual user. If you do not have your shit together and a very good understanding of how your body responds to different compounds how they affect your blood levels and your wellness as a whole you have no business staying on PERIOD.

I monitor everything i mean everything. My wife (RN) checks my bp weekly and watches me for any signs of something wrong that i may not beware of. I have my blood levels checked every 2 months.
I have a orthopedic surgeon and a chiropracter i train with so medical advice if problems arise is easy for me to get. Just a phone call away really.

I have found from personal experience that most of the dangers of 6month or longer cycles are extremely over rated. Do i have probelms with gyno? No not at any dose. I have retained water in the past at extremely high doses but i have the resources to dump it in a few hours. And the people around me to make sure i dont fuck myself up doing it.

For everyone no. For experienced users that arent getting the same punch out of cycles they used to - thats up to them

Not at all, bro, I thought that this was/is a great discussion! I wasn't offended at all, nor did I think that you came off defensive. I think that it's great when differing opinions can be openly discussed in an intelligent and meaningful fashion.
