don't worry, just for the record, "animal activists are just as good of a source of protein as this trophy deer". Hopefully that will keep them at bay.

A bit small............that thing is a monster....nice high tines....good dog points.......venesion is my favorite meat along with squirrels....you guys will love that.......Big Guns is right about the time of year they're killed in.......if you kill a deer in the rut (mating season) they do have a lot of hormones in them.....that's when they're stupid and easy to kill....they have one thing on their mind...and it's also the time when a lot of deer/hunter accidents occur like the one you see on tv some times....when the deer is kicking the crap out of the hunter...I laugh my ass off when I see it.........as long as you gut out the deer right, and get a clean shot on it you shouldn't have any problems with it tasting bad.....just be careful with the bladder or you'll have problems....

Congratulations on your kill........I'd be proud of any buck killed with a bow....but you have a trophy there.

It will make for a few mighty fine feasts and a lifetime of stories.
Ask yourself....why exist if you can't be the best? What is YOUR answer?

I know this is your thread but here's some of mine shot all three this year with Bow. I know the one is kinda small but he was the first of the season and he looked bigger from up in my stand.

                                hey guys

I live in Missouri and have eaten deer for a long time.

To get some of the gamey taste out of the meat soak it over night in a mixture of salt water and apple cider vinegar.

The salt will take the blood out and the vinegar will help with the taste and kind of tenderize the meat.
