Punching power is a matter of total body coordinations IMO but if you want an upper body routine for exposive power, try this link.

Explosive power comes from correct alignment and constant practice. What are you training for, Martial Arts or boxing?zozer7@cyber-rights.net
You want a source:
1. Do a search.
2. Read everyword
3. Then ask yourself do I still need a source. If the answer is yes.
4. Repeat steps 1-3
5. Dont pm me saying you did what I said now can I give you a source or tell you how to get one. The answer is no!

Agreed!!
I am with these guys. The speed of your punch can be increased by slightly rotating your fist thumb down just before impact. Your body alignment and the use of your hips makes a drastic difference in the power of your elbows, kicks, punches, knees. Don't just punch using your arm strength, swivel your hips and transfer your weight.
If you have a bag then maybe go to a month of formal Muay Thai or boxing training to just get the idea and then you can do the routines at home. Or if you like the classes you might want to stay in them. They are both a great cardio workout to say the least.

My old boxing coach always told me that punchers are born not made. I agree to a certain extent, the snappier (if that is a word) the punch the more knock out power you should have. So i would say work on you speed and form. shadow boxing is great for that also very arobic alows you to look at you form. Also alot of the punching strength come from the legs if you are in the right stance you legs work somewhat like a spring it is hard for me to explain in words but easily shown.............I love boxing
