Supplement co.'s are the ones that push the "consume massive ammounts of protein to get huge" mentality. I allways chuckle when I'm at the gym and I see some guy munching on protein bars through his entire workout. I allmost never go over 300 grams a day and I weight 235.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

I originally posted this on elitefitness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I remember from a while ago that ginger is suppose to aid in protein abosorbtion by dialating the intestines which exposes a higher surface area. Here is some info on Ginger: For about 2,500 years,

I would eat around 30-40grams a day with each meal. The highest Ive eaten was around 70grams in one meal.

Correct me if i'm wrong - but the pancreas secrete protease, amylase and lipase - the primary digestive enzymes that break down your food in the stomach. Folks who have cystic fibrosis take a product called pancrease that contains these enzymes. They promote digestion. You can take them and get more nutrients absorbed. I've taken this stuff with great success. As a matter of fact it can be almost as powerful as steroids in someone like me - a hard hard gainer. Good luck trying to find it on the black market! (Oh the power of prescription)

I agree with bounce. I consume about 40g a meal. I also eat 2 Detour bars a day to make up the total of 287g of protein a day.

                    I consume no more then 50g a shake....and when I eating...it doesn't really matter...as I know I get at least 40-45g within the first helping...after that I stop counting.

I guess around 110g, but I am going to use a 7 meal/2.5 hour scheme this next cycle, with about 525 total per day, which is obviously alot less than that.

You can't generalize, size and genetics, and your own personal structure make up those rules. Someone on deca/test thats 300 pounds is not going to compare to some 50% bodyfat 300 pound woman, or a 100 pound man/woman either.

For an all natural person, you are somewhat "forced" to look into supplements more, but if your on GEAR why are you going to spend money on supplements that give you another 5% advantage? When your fucking superman on test!

Instead of eating every 3 hours, I'm going to try 7 meals a day, or every 2.5 hours. If i go for 525g protein per day that is 75g per meal. 110g protein in one meal was mostly a fluke, I've never regularly gone over about 80-85 unless I was just pigging out or trying to "make up for lost time".

I know natural people who are in the high protein area as well, never as high as bulking roid guys, but it is NOT unnatural at all for bodybuilders to be on 1.5-2g protein per pound, I stopped gaining at 1.3g some time ago and try to never dip below 360g per day from now on.

I dont totally understand the concept on food vs powder, but keep in mind that whey when taken in water is absorbed in only 20 minutes, so buying whey because its cheap should be used with a purpose, not neccessarily thoughout the day thinking its going to be sitting in your system keeping you in positive nitrogen balance.
