i think a case in point could be EQLgearstud. i am to believe that he turned out to be an 18 year old scammer? he had hella posts here. i almost trusted him.

Well thats the point I had in mind and thank you for bringing it up and it is a legit point. But you have to admit, thats pretty rare. I wouldnt even allow members to have names such as that. EQLGearStud, if you accept PMs from someone with a name like that, you're asking to be scammed, granted newbies dont know better, but its their job to learn. Thats why you hear vets and mods say "hand around, leanr who's who and you'll find a source". That doesnt mean contact the guy who has a steriod-like name and pray you dont get scammed. If newbies would be hanging around, they would now realize he was a scammer. His advice really wasnt bad, and he did post a lot of bullshit in the General Forum, but if the newbies would have done a check in the secure forum, they would have learned he wasnt a legit source, but once again, good point TF.
