You don't like this board so much.. then don't come back.. Who the hell are you to tell people not to post..
Obviously it's not anyones place to tell other people not to post on the board. People are simply frustrated from having to wade through posts that have nothing to do with the original thread. General forums are for 'irrelevant' posts and other small talk. FG is an awesome board but wouldn't you agree that people engaging in idle small talk in a legitimate thread lowers the quality of the board in the same way flaming wars at Elite lower it's quality?
People that frequent the board regulary know who the knowledgeble bro's are. They have seperated themselves from the rest.
So when you someone with X number of posts, a high post count, chances are, its from the other forums like "General". Stick around the board and you will get ur questions answered in a matter of minutes and will quickly find out who know's their shit, can offer sound advice and who will answer "sorry bro, i've never done that"
ive been on this board a while now and have checked others out ...this board puts those away cause of how it is run..good owner and mods keep the flameing out of here and the scammers...
I would like to say however, to the starter of this thread: You say that there is bad advice, and that may be so, but obviously there can be more then one opinion on a subject. Also, someone may believe something to be true, that is not. Then he may pass that information on. Is that his fault, of course not! No one can know everything, and on the Internet, if you do research, you can find information to support just about any point you want. Newbies are going to have to be able to decide what advice they should take, and what they should throw away. Also, the Vets need to jump in there and correct someone if they are wrong (which they usually do). This will keep someone from taking bogus advice. Everyone can still learn, and NO ONE can be right all the time!!
This isn't a thread that needs to be broken down by everyone. There is nothing hard to understand about anything I said. It's a fact that this stuff happens on this board all the time. I didn't just come on here and post an opinion, I've seen it happen for the last three years. To the people that are getting offended: The only way you would get offended by this thread is if you thought that you were guilty of what I was talking about. Even though I never singled anyone out Rado gets offended because he's got 7000 posts. Hey bro who am I hating on? People who give bad advice? You got a guilty conscience.
.
You don't like this board so much(Did I say I didn't like this board?) then don't come back.. Who the hell are you to tell people not to post..(Show me where I ever told anyone not to post)
To basskiller: Being the respected bro that you are and an administrator of this board it seems you wouldn't want newbies getting anything short of the best advice possible. You really surprised me with that reply, but hey I guess we all got different morals.
I was going to post the same thing about post whoring a couple of days ago, but thought I'd get flame for having a low post count.
Why don't you just post a bunch of BS untill you have up to around 2000 posts under your belt, then you'll be a vet and you'll know your shit. J/K
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Hulk...before you began this thread you had what, like 8 posts? And you've been a member almost since this board's inception, correct?
Someone could just as well criticize you for not contributing and joining in. If everyone posted 8 or less times in the past five months, the board would be nil, empty, a ghost town.
This board has been around 4 whole fucking months and we got people with over 5000 posts. It took me two years on the old fitnessboard to get to 1000 posts, you know why? Because I don't know everything about everything and I'm not gonna try to answer every question that comes across the board.
When I first joined I could have easily answered every post with information that I had heard, but I refrained untill I actually had experience with the subject being asked about.
Let me try to break this down for the people who just don't seem to get what I'm trying to say here: Rarely do I ever meet anyone in person that I can honestly say knows thier shit about juice. Some of the things I've heard almost make me blow chunks because they're so ridiculous. Now lets say your average Joe that doesn't know shit about shit registers tomorrow, does some research for a month or so then decides to start answering questions. Even though this guy has no personal experience as of yet he is giving people advice on how to cycle. Now for a reality check for the guys who are gonna say this doesn't happen, some of you would be surprised what these so called vets first questions were, even a couple of months earlier. This leads to other problems as well. I'll give you an example: over a year ago a guy came around by the name of AnablolicPHD, some of you may remember him. From day one this guy seemed to know his shit, racking up the post count and gaining everyones respect. He had only been around a couple of months and people were directing questions at him like little fourth graders. Now, if one day these newbies emailed APHD for some advice and he hooked them up with a source do you think they would trust him? Hell yeah, and they did. People lost thousands of dollars to this motherfucker. I'll tell you something else, if he would have tried that on Elite he would have got ridiculed. In the last three years I've been over there I've noticed how much harder it is to gain respect, which in turn is a good thing that should happen on all the boards.
I love this board, I was here the same week that geared and small registered in 2000 on the old board, I've just seen so many good people gone bad on fitnessboard, that I tried to heed a warning to you guys from what I'd seen and read when I did a search the other day. It just blew my mind the number of posts some people had in such short of time. You simply can't know that much, and if it's from the chat then you may have some other problems that we won't address here. I'm just letting you guys know that I've seen it happen before.
Basskiller, if you'd get off your power trip you may see that I was trying to help. I'm not gonna look up every post that has misinformation or bad advice in it,(I can't believe you asked me to do that twice) and I I'm not pissed off by the way. Obviously what your saying is the sort of thing that I'm talking about doesn't happen here or you would have simply agreed with it in the first place. I can see where you may think I was questioning the mods handling of the board, but I think you guys do a great job. So its okay to step off your high horse for a second and have an open mind. I'm not trying to take the reignes here, it was simply a heads up.
To everyone who recognized the point of thread and who agreed with me. Thank you.
To the lazy jackasses who couldn't even look up my handle to properly address me: If I wanted my username to be "threadstarter" I would have registered it that way. I know Hulk is a real hard one to remember, but christ, give me a break.

Please allow me to interject and be as diplomatic and rational as I can be.....
Im considered a 'vet' here I would assume, I have been a moderator at 2 other boards and asked to mod at a few others. I by no means know everything about everything. There are people here much more intelligent than myself. Now, I have asked some pretty basic, simple questions in the past. I, like most people, dont take one person's opinion and hold it as the word of god. If I ask a question on a cycle, I look for multiple answers and commonalities within them. Then I begin to consult the search function for a similar question as my own. I dont give a shit if you're 5'9 120lbs at 15% BF, or 5'9 230 at 8% BF, if you give good advice, you're a vet. If you know you're shit, you know your shit, regardless of if you squat 500lbs or not. Ive been to school for years, studying in areas that are applicable on this board and areas that do not really pertain to this board. I catch on very quickly. Obviously you cant major in Steriods, or get a degree in it, so you reasearch and research your ass off. When I give cycle advice, which I often do, I dont give it from a personal perspective, most guys dont. Sure Ive sampled various anabolics, etc. but not all my advice comes from personal experience, and you want to tell me my advice is null because I havent used a certain drug? Well I cry bullshit. Guys like Bass, Prolangtum, Doom, Ironfist, etc. I take their advice to the highest level, they know their shit, so does that mean they have used every anabolic-androgenic steriods out there? Nope. Does that mean they've used every type of diet out there? Nope.
The moral of my rambling is- First hand feedback is great, Im not discrediting that, but guys who research, get feedback from others, know mechanisms of actions, the physiology of drugs, etc. I'll take their advice over some guy who did a Sust. cycle and said "it kicks ass". But again, thats my opinion.
This leads to other problems as well. I'll give you an example: over a year ago a guy came around by the name of AnablolicPHD, some of you may remember him. Now come on, thats not a fair statement. Do you want us all to post our degrees or what? This is the first I have heard of this and its a sad situation, but you cant make a generalization such as that. Not all 'vets' are scammers. Of course, I, along with most everyone, will NOT give out a source to anyone who asks, I would blame the 'victim' for asking for a source to start with.
I'll tell you something else, if he would have tried that on Elite he would have got ridiculed. In the last three years I've been over there I've noticed how much harder it is to gain respect, which in turn is a good thing that should happen on all the boards.
Which is bullshit. Because Elite, much like bb.com, based knowledge on post counts. I rarely post there (no platinum ) but its a good board, packed with info. but its like a massive game of 'who's got bigger balls', Id rather not play that. Most ELite guys, bb.com vets, etc. post elsewhere also, this board is packed with vets, and any phony as you spoke of, would be given hell here as much as any other board.
It just blew my mind the number of posts some people had in such short of time. You simply can't know that much, and if it's from the chat then you may have some other problems that we won't address here. I'm just letting you guys know that I've seen it happen before.
I know what you're saying. Guys with high post counts who give advice to newbies will be seen as 'gods' to them since they have such high post counts and yes, that sucks, but theres enough people and intelligence here where that newbie will be given multiple opinions. Sometimes I can answer a question here, but I hold back because Im not 100% sure of my answer, because I know I will be corrected and I dont want to give bad advice, trust me, if shitty advice is given here, multiple people will come along and correct it
Rest of the post I wont touch since its directed at one person, but I hope you dont think Im being a prick about the post, because I can see where you're coming, but I assure you, shitty advice will be dealt with here.
I know which person knows there shit some and which person knows a hell of alot more than I do and there are quite a few of you at this board and other great ones! Dont judge someone by there post count, mayy people that have a large number of posts know there shit and many dont... I think we know by the QUALITY of there posts who does and who is here because they like the board and it also fills there time! Please dont judge people because they like to post a great deal and dont judge there knowledge by it! We know who knows there shit and who doesnt, hell some people just have way more free time than others and if they want to post 25k times then let them if it helps them or makes there day better I dont care it makes this board worth being here! I might see if I can just take the post count off since so many people have a problem with it, fuck half the members have more posts than I do and I own the board but I am not complaining! If someone comes to the board and they never did a steroid in there life and post 15,000 times in the general section and it takes stress away from there daily lives, makes them happy, or fills there time then that makes me happy to have this board! Please lets not get one poeple for posting if you dont like the many posts by people that are chit chat then dont go to the forum designed for that the GENERAL discussion forum for people to chat!

I am probably going to take the post count away to prevent newbies from misleading thinking someone is a vet!
