  • SHUTUP AND GET CUTUP

    Hey everyone, new to this board...got lots of good stuff from what I see so far. Currently working to cut down to 185 from about 195. Once I am there I will probably maintain for a bit and then bulk back to 195-200. I am naturally pretty broadly built so I would like to once again be muscular AND cut. I got the muscle, just need to trim up. My goal is to hit 185 by the end of May.

    Doing a three day split Chest/Tris, Back/Bis Calves, Legs.

    Cardio 4 times a week + at 45 minutes 60-70% HR.

    If anyone has any input on how to loose the fat faster than what my current routine will allow the input would be much appreciated. What has worked for you?

    CARDIO ON AN EMPTY STOMACH AS MUCH AS YOU CAN STAND...DIET, DIET, DIET....WATER WATER WATER

    DROP THE CALORIES - BURN MORE THAN YOU TAKE IN - SIMPLE MATH! I DO IT VERY OFTEN AND ITS HARD BUT ITS WORTH IT!

      Workout split looks good but what's your diet like? When are you doing your carido and workouts? How much sleep are you getting per night?

        Welcome aboard. Just as 02 said: burn more calories than you take in and you'll see the pounds drop!!! Good luck bro!

          What kinds of cardio are you doing? I use a combo of jogging at a moderate pace for about 2 miles and a brisk walk for another mile, then i do recumbant bike.

                    AWESOME! Thanks for all the input. Obviously I try to monitor and cut calories below what I expend each day, while also lifting to put on some muscle weight to help burn those cals.


                    I do 45-60 minutes on the eliptical. On weight days I will often end with 20 minutes on the eliptical or take a brisk walk for 25 minutes later in the day.

                    I like the idea of jump rope and sprints. Running is tough on my knees due to some soccer injuries from a couple years back, but I usually alternate from a couple weeks running 2-3 miles and then 15 minutes elliptical, to the next two weeks just doing all elliptical...I have tried HIIT but it does not seem to yield the best results for me.

                    Diet is good, healthy protein and veggies each day with limited other types of carbs. Most carbs are consumed with the protein to aid in delivery. Once a week I have a cheat that usually includes 2 drinks and some "junk" food, still in limited portions though.

                    Looking forward to getting cutup and reporting on my results.

                        thanks!

                        By the way, I know sleep is a category I am not doing stellar in, due to having to wake up at 5 am to get to them gym I only get about 6.5 or 6 hours a night. Is that sufficient? I know recommended is 7+ hours.
