  • Fudge Brownie Chocolate Protein Bars

    fudge-protein-bars-e1444784318128.jpg image.png

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 cups black beans (1 15-oz can, drained and rinsed very well) (250g after draining)
    • 3 tbsp dutch or regular cocoa powder (15g)
    • 7 tbsp chocolate protein powder (45g)
    • scant 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup or agave or honey (Honey is not for strict vegans.) (75g)
    • pinch pure stevia, or 2 tbsp sugar of choice
    • 3 1/2 tbsp coconut or vegetable oil (35g)
    • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/3 cup to 2/3 cup chocolate chips (Not optional; omit at your own risk.)

    Instructions

Homemade Chocolate Protein Bars: Preheat the oven to 350 F. Combine all ingredients except chips in a high-quality food processor, and blend until absolutely and completely smooth. (A blender works if you absolutely must, but the texture and taste will be much better in a food processor.) Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 8×8 square pan. Optional: sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the top. Cook the homemade chocolate protein bars 16 minutes. They will still look underdone when you take them from the oven, but this is okay. Let cool, then pat down with a pancake spatula. Refrigerate overnight. The bars will have firmed up and are now ready to cut and eat. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. Makes about 10 bars

Try these ones and lmk. Baking with protein powder isnt an easy thing. We bakers know how baking is such a science and any slight modification can change the whole outcome. I have heard that black bean brownies are real good. Have you even made brownies with them, guns?

no i have never done them with black beans. i think the combo of altitude and humidity make the process of these kinds of recipes finicky. i even spoke with someone who did a bar recipe up close by you guys and we tried tweaking things around and still didnt work. idk, may have to give these a try tomorrow

you could probably use cinnamon or some other type of spice. it would possibly end up making it more of a cake as opposed to a brownie though

what about oat flour or almond flour? that would be a good replacement for gluten flour or something like that. we do rice flour sometimes as well

These really turned out pretty good. The texture is not dry but the only thing is they break apart easy. The tastes is really quite good. I would make again or sure. Next I will get the ingredients and try the original chocolate recipe that I posted! Thumbs up on these Blondie Bars

WOW these are freaking fantastic. The only thing I change is I cut the amount of vanilla and added some almond extract. Even my daughter ate them and if she knew what was in them she wouldnt even have tried them.

if you like something that is really good chocolate taste, these are it. I think the dark cocoa was a good addition
