  • DEEP belly breathing

Besides the fact that it requires focus and help relieve an anxious moment, there are many benes to this. Even though our daughter wonders WTF I am doing when she hears me exhaling, lol, I have a feeling she will do the same one day. Anyone do deep breathing for relaxation?

try vacuuming also to work the traverse abdominis(sp) all you do is lay on your back and suck your belly button in as hard as you can. like you are trying to touch it to your spine. you do a few dozen reps and you just build up from there. it will bring your waist down big time. not that you need to make you waist smaller but it helps

This is how I do it... Deep breath through nose expanding chest and abdomen, hold for 4...then exhale through mouth (pursed lips). sucking in belly (like you said) with a count for 10. By the time I reach 10 I am touching my spine, lol. I usually do about 10 reps at a time

I have a niece who is a Yoga nut and she teaches me stuff like this. She is thin, lean and amazingly strong. You would never know it by looking at her

                    Re: DEEP belly breathing

never heard of that technique before. between rounds during sparring practice coach tells us to breathe all the way out and all the way in rather than fast shallow breaths to recover in the 1 minute before the next round. i will try this belly breathing to maximize this.

                    thanks
