Even organic food can be mislabeled accidentally or in many cases on purpose.
if you buy say olive oil, shouldn't you get 100% olive oil?
I pay a little more for many items because it is unadulterated. If there was a label that said olive oil and in small print w/canola oil and it was $1 cheaper perhaps many would buy that as it did not matter.
big agriculture and giant industrial farming are POWERFUL lobbies. look at how powerful the corn lobby is by itself. they have swayed our government to put FOOD IN OUR CARS FOR MORE PROFIT UNDER THE GUISE OF SUSTAINABLE ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even though it decreases fuel economy, is bad for older engines, it is food! Food that could be given to people starving in 3rd world countries! instead these greasy snakes make fuel for cars.)
