first, when is the optimal time to take both these supplements? second, on a low-carb diet, in a cutting phase, is it beneficial to take these supplements at the same time? should i only use one?

you can use both. Take the ALA when you consume carbs. Depending on your diet, take the CLA with a meal, (preferably one without many carbs) or mix in a protein shake (but not post-workout).Disclaimer: Manic Behavior is not a real person, he is only a figment of your imagination.
