  • Filet Mignon roast

Calling all cooks here. I always just buy Filet steaks but I bought a roast this time. I hear it taste best when grilled but I have never grilled a roast. I don't want to mess this up cause it was not a cheap roast. anyone ever grill this kind of roast?

I've cooked it on a spit rotisserie Style. I wrapped in bacon and covered it in foil. It came out awesome

I just have a regular gas Weber. Do you have to cook it long? I would just be throwing on the grates and then turning every so often

You need a meat thermometer to cook it to just the right temp and if u want it med well or well done

It's also great in the oven too. The guy that showed how to cook it on the rotisserie spit also cooked it in the oven. I'll email him for the recipe and let you know

i think a gas grill will not improve the flavor, i would do it in the oven. if you want it seared you can do that in the grill or in a pan then roast it. rare to med rare it will be best.

never done one but have done tri tip roasts they can be over cooked real easy.

This turned out soooo amazingly good! Fuzo is Mr Picky and he loved it and wants to have this at least once a week, lol. I made some homemade gravy, mashed taters and corn for him and I ate the meat and lentils with peas (blah). I ended up cooking it on a low temp for a longer time than cranked up the oven for the last 20 minutes or so. Definitely worth the higher price I paid for a good roast.
