It is a pressure point which I personally believe in. A lot is in the mind so you are right even if is the placebo effect and it works, that's all that matters. Especially if it means no meds! Plus its a cool piercing ,lol. When you live in years of pain I think people will try many different things. I try to keep an open mind cause you never know what just may help

I get migraines too, furious pain. i use midrin and it works very well. not as well as imitrex which gets rid of the nasea and puking stage and all pain but makes me so sleepy. I still get slightly nauseous before headache stage with midrin but it takes 85% of the headache away, is cheap and I can still function. also it is so good at getting rid of a hangover. (not that i get them often)

I take Imitrex when they are bad. take Zofran for the nausea , they both help me from puking and I am glad I don't get sleepy. I usually get wavy lined auras before too. They suck but that's life
