Spinal Manipulation in the Treatment of Low-Back Pain
    W. H. Kirkaldy-Willis and J. D. Cassidy

Spinal manipulation, one of the oldest forms of therapy for back pain, has mostly been practiced outside of the medical profession. Over the past decade, there has been an escalation of clinical and basic science research on manipulative therapy, which has shown that there is a scientific basis for the treatment of back pain by manipulation. Most family practitioners have neither the time nor inclination to master the art of manipulation and will wish to refer their patients to a skilled practitioner of this therapy. Results of spinal manipulation in 283 patients with low back pain are presented. The physician who makes use of this resource will provide relief for many patients.

i tried 3 different chiropractors that are well respected in DFW (and one quack). most guys who train combat sports love getting "cracked" i guess i do not respond to chiropractic. It does not help me at all but then i have a fused vertabra so one cannot manipulate something that does not move

look into traction then jipped. that will open the verts up that arent actually fused and take off a ton of pressure

I also don't respond to chiropractic either. All it does is makes my issues worse. So I will never ever see a back chiro again ever. Now P/t from a very qualified specialist I will use and they have helped my injuries when I had all those surgeries but getting adjusted doesn't help me.I wish it did

me too brother. i have an appt with a spine surgeon on august 4th. i have had one surgery but ever since my back was fractured i have had moderate to bad pain. tried chiro and it made it worse. the chiropractor kept telling me to stick with it, it will get better. well $1000 and much pain later i stopped. after a month or so I started feeling better but no better than before chiropractic.
