    Re: Anti-inflammatory eating

My wife has an issue that causes her chronic pain. She too is trying a nutritional approach to offer some relief. Anti Inflammatory eating would be the perfect description for it. The changes she has made have been mostly in the area of carbs and lowering the intake and the ones she does eat would be considered "good carbs". Also her fat intake is healthy fats as much as possible. Protein intake is quality sources, not processed meats etc.
So far she is experiencing some relief. The reduction in water retention alone seems to be helping her so far. Interesting topic and I agree that what we eat plays a major role in our overall health and well being.

I suffer the same. When our bodies are inflamed that is when we hang onto the water. As inflammation subsides, so will that retention. NO gluten dairy, supplements and even some foods that are anti inflammatory bother me. Even exercise has to be very limited now It is rough, I feel for her.

I think a lot of it is even individual response. There are general guidelines that can be followed by you but you almost have to see how you individually respond to certain foods. It really seems like for her a paleo type diet is working best. At any rate I feel for people that are effected in such a manner. Once you experience it and see first hand you realize how much diet can impact persons quality of life.
My wife has an issue with pelvic floor dysfunction and a couple other things in that area. The pain at times is so unbearable she cannot get out of bed. Now granted those times are much fewer and further between, especially since she has made significant dietary changes. I have made her aware of this thread and she is going to pop on here and check it out.
It is always nice to be able to relate to someone.
