Re: Egg whites
I ask this somewhere long ago and was told liquid egg whites would be considered supplement because of some reason I cant remember now and cooking the eggs are considered whole food because when cooked the your body digests them different .. o hell its been so long now i'll see if I can remember the forum I posted on and look for it.
I know one thing for sure drinking them causes awful gas but still use them in my shakes regularly and I eat the hell out of the whole ones daily.

Re: Egg whites
I consider it to be whole from the shell. Here is a study on this topic of cooked vs. raw.
http://jn.nutrition.org/content/128/10/1716.full
"In conclusion, with the use of stable isotope techniques, we were able to determine the amounts of egg protein escaping digestion and absorption in the small intestine after ingestion of a physiologic load. Native egg protein is malabsorbed to an important extent. The assimilation of egg protein is facilitated by heat-pretreatment, but remains incomplete."

Re: Egg whites
I have often wondered why anyone would waste the yolks (the tastiest part) But now that I am trying to keep a check on my fat and each yolk has 4g, I understand. Especially since you Guys have to eat so many to get the protein you need for a meal. When cutting you can't have that much fat in the diet. I will be days trying to understand this article, but thanks for the info. I love to learn.
