  • Apple cider vinegar

Me and MMG have recently starting drinking a little everyday and here are a few reasons to consider adding apple cider vinegar to you diet...

    1. Apple cider vinegar helps tummy troubles.
Sip some apple cider vinegar mixed with water. If a bacterial infection is at the root of your diarrhea, apple cider vinegar could help contain the problem, thanks to its antibiotic properties. What's more, some folk remedy experts contend that apple cider vinegar contains pectin, which can help soothe intestinal spasms. Try mixing one or two tablespoons into water, or clear juice like apple juice.

    2. Apple cider vinegar cures hiccups.
Take a teaspoonful of apple cider vinegar. Its sour taste could stop a hiccup in its tracks.

    3. ACV can help you reduce heartburn.

Though it might seem like an oxymoron to treat stomach acid with an acid-containing vinegar, there is research suggesting that apple cider vinegar works by correcting low acid, hence reducing heartburn. Natural remedy experts say you should begin to feel relief very shortly after taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar followed by a glass of water. Note that apple cider vinegar will not give relief if you have an ulcer.

    4. Apple cider vinegar clears a stuffy nose.
Mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink. This helps sinus drainage.

    5. Apple cider vinegar soothes a sore throat.
As soon as you feel the prickle of a sore throat, employ germ-busting apple cider vinegar to help head off the infection at the pass. Turns out, most germs can't survive in the acidic environment vinegar creates. Just mix ¼ cup apple cider vinegar with ¼ cup warm water and gargle every hour or so.

    6. Apple cider vinegar beats exhaustion.
Exercise and sometimes extreme stress cause lactic acid to build up in the body, causing fatigue. Interestingly, the amino acids contained in apple cider vinegar act as an antidote. What's more, apple cider vinegar contains potassium and enzymes that may relieve that tired feeling. Next time you're feeling beat, add a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar to a glass of chilled vegetable drink or to a glass of water.

    7. Apple cider vinegar can aid in weight loss.

For daily weight management, add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to 16 ounces of water. This concoction can be sipped throughout the day. Data shows some limited, yet significant, weight loss benefits from sustained daily intake of acetic acid (which is a main ingredient in apple cider vinegar).

In a 2009 study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, it was found that subjects that consumed acetic acid for 12 weeks experienced significant declines in body weight, abdominal fat, waist circumference and triglycerides. Triglycerides contribute to the bad cholesterol that we want to avoid.

    8. Apple cider vinegar will balance your entire inner body system.

The body constantly strives to achieve a state of equilibrium. Apple cider vinegar helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Research shows that higher acid levels (lower pH level) leads to a lack of energy and higher incidences of infection. Hence, my desire to sip some a few times a day for a natural boost of energy.

    9. It can help you detox.

As part of balancing the body's pH, apple cider vinegar creates an overall detoxification of the body. Research shows that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation and help detoxify the liver.

    10. ACV is great for your lymphatic system.

This miracle vinegar helps to break up mucous throughout the body and cleanse the lymph nodes. Believe it or not, research suggests that apple cider vinegar can help with allergies because of its ability to reduce mucous and sinus congestion. When reducing the effects of allergies, it can also help stave off sinus infections and their related symptoms, such as sore throats and headaches.

    11. It can help your body get rid of candida.

This vinegar is rich in natural enzymes that can help rid your body of candida—yeasts that are attributed to thrush in humans. Candida also is blamed for creating symptoms of fatigue, poor memory, sugar cravings, and yeast infections.

I dont have acne, but if I get a bad pimple, I just use the cotton ball and dab it on a couple times a day. To much can dry the skina nd I would presume if you are taking in ACV orally, it will help the skin problems eventually anyway.

I have never really had any issue either but yeah it would make sense to me that if taken oral it would help some anyway.

I tried apple cider vinegar to help with my heartburn, and I instantly got horrible heartburn. LOL. Guess my problem is too much acid.

Yes, ACV does not work for evryone as it does depend what the problem is. Heartburn can come from to much acid or not enough

Well I thought I had this too. ive had high acid since 14. Try mixxing an ounce of acv with a glass of water and a tbl spoon of honey. First time I did it the heart burn was immense but I stuck to it now I dont have to take zantac or tums religiously anymore. I try to do it twice a day.

interesting. ive read this before and actually tried implementing it into a daily routine. very difficult as just by using water you cant really water acv down, your still going to get kicked in the back of the throat. im thinking about trying it again though. thanks for the reminder.

                      Re: Apple cider vinegar

I have a gallon of Braggs acv. I used it for a while for acid reflux. I dont know if it worked but the stuff tastes horrible. I can handle bad tasting stuff, but that stuff is brutal. OMG! lol
I hear it will make pine trees grow, so I might end up putting that gallon to use that way LOL

                        Re: Apple cider vinegar

It also gave me heartburn.. I don't have an issue with reflux or anything, though. I'm going to stick with it and see if the little discomfort pays off for the many benefits it is supposed have.
Baby1, I will have to try it if I get a nasty zit! Thanks

just out of curiosity and for those of us who tend to by non-organic products due to just a wee smidgin tighter budgets, is there a significant health difference between organic and non-organic for this product?

yes their is. when you get the stuff that people use for dressing and cooking it has been pasturized (sp) and it kills off all the good stuff as well as the bad. so basically you get the taste and the acid and that's about it. from what i have read and been told you always want the pulp one because it has the max amount of health benefits. i get the bragg one from either gnc or the grocery store for under 10 bucks and it is a huge bottle. i want to say i have even seen it in walmart also.
