WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The most extensive study yet by the U.S. government on suicide among military veterans shows more veterans are killing themselves than previously thought, with 22 deaths a day - or one every 65 minutes, on average.

Its horrible, we got send back from the field early to do a safety stand down on monday to talk about this issue, we just had a soldier in our brigade kill himself, there has been 32 suicides in the month of January and it breaks my heart. I dont understand why anyone will do this, i wish they would seek somone to talk to, i have alot issues myself, i dont seek medical help but i talk to my buddies whats going on with me. stay strong my brothas and never give up.

i know most of my boys that i lost never showed signs or talked about it. the sad fact of the matter is that a lot of the guys that it happens to are to scared to speak up because of their career or being labeled as being weak

that is so true brotha, they do label you, its so fked up, thats why i havent went to BHS, they put that crap on your record.

I have known so many that have lost while I was in and after I was out and have been to many families funerals because of this.Not only do we die fighting for some fatasses political reasons but we die when we come back as well.So much of yourself is lost during these times and when you come back home,you have lost so much here as well and its extremely hard to fit in again.The gov't doesnt do shit for you either.So many have to fight for benefits and are so overlooked and forgotten its sickening.
I was the most GUNG HO MUTHA OUT THERE while I was in and even after I cam out but that ESPIRIT DE CORPS slowly dies down when you see how much you and your brothers and sisters are thought about and appreciated for all we have sacrificed.
We can give all our money to the fuks that we were fighting to rebuild but none to the soldiers and their families that have lost in fighting them!!!

yep, i have full free coverage from those ass bags but pay a small amount out of pocket from my retired insurance so i dont have to deal with them. they suck so bad and treat you like shit. like you are a burden to deal with and so many other issues

thats how they treated my grandfather and uncle when they would go to the VA, theyre trying to push you dont get your benefits til you are 65 when you retire from the military

thats alot of tours my brotha, i dont think i could handle that many. and you are right it wont stop til the wars are over but i dont see that ever happening.
