  • Met-Rx Protein plus bars?

I eat a couple of these a day for a quick protein source, but I see a bunch of people here who are not fond of bars/shakes.
I do a MyoPlex shake every day as well...

Opinions on why these are bad/good?

Look good to me: (Some differ depending on the type)
    310 cals
    31g protein
    6g fat
32g carbs (What the hell are non-impact carbs by the way...)
It says 27g of these carbs are non-impact and shouldn't count towards total carb intake... no clue.
    Lots of vitamins and minerals.

Everyone knows about MyoPlex goodness, so I won't go into it.

I think it's just that most people believe real whole food is better than shakes/bars. It's a tradeoff of convenience over quality. If you could manage to get everything from whole food, you'd be better off but that's not realistic for a lot of people. I don't eat bars unless I'm desperate but I have 2-3 shakes/day.

non-impact carbs are carbs that have no impact on your blood sugar level...basically your body doesnt recognize them as a carbohydrate...(usually sugar alcohols and fiber)....i have a couple of bars a week....i use them to hold me over between classes...i prefer nitro tech bars...lots of good stuff in them

Bars=The most over processed food a lot of BBers eat. Half the protein is usually gelatin, which is an incomplete protein. Not to mention most have more carbs and fat in them than they say, take Detour bars for example. Eat food.
I eat at least 6 times a day to build my body
I pray at least 6 times a day to build my soul

Bars are worthless to me. If I gotta have a bar, it might as well be a Baby Ruth.If you need a quick meal, keep a gallon of water and some packs of myoplex or the equivalent in your car.
