yes, you should take protein every day even if not working out. you should try to 1 to 2 grams of protein for every pound that you way. I guess you should take at least two or so protein shakes, depending on your diet.

No way man. If you must take a protein shake on off days, mix it with some type of oil (flax) and milk. Get the rest of your protein from whole foods.Originally posted by rude

Too hard to get 2 grams of protein from whole foods without any shakes. Just not realistic so flax and milk it is.Originally posted by YellowJacket

thats true, barely can get 1 gram of protein per pound. Question though, why do you have to take flax and milk?"I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a sacrifice -- the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask"?

You dont have to, but whey is in and out of your system in roughly 45-60 minutes, so it doesnt make for a great meal replacement, although its decent, but if you add flax with it, it will slow down the absorbtion and not to mention the benefits of flax oil. Milk, casein protien, also will slow that digestion.Originally posted by rude
