  • Eating before a workout.

    I usually slam a small protien shake about 30min-1hr before a work out to combat muscle loss whil doing post cardio. Anyone else do this ? What do you add to your shake. Would it be better to go on an empty stomach?

    I throw in some maltodextrin/dextrose to fuel muscles. I don't always have a shake though. It just depends on the time of day. If I workout an hour or two after a meal, I make sure I ate a balance of protein and carbs. After the workout is when I always down the maltodextrin/protein shake.

      i take 100 gram gainer 1 hour before workout.

        I have to eat about 1.5-2hrs before training, usually 2 hrs, if i eat sooner i sometimes find the urge to throw up overwhelming while i'm training

              2 hours before i have a balanced meal of meduim glycemic carbs, high protein and moderate fat. If i drink a protein shake, my stomach gets upset, if I drink any form of carbs, i get tired.
              I eat at least 6 times a day to build my body

                i ahve a tbsp of honey. It gives me the energy needed to get threw a tough work out

                    i wake up at 4am, have a banana and whey in water then start warming up about 4:20
                    Do you know where one builds action, stamina and guts? In the gym under the iron day after day, forever without fail or excuses or grumbling, that’s where. It’s true. I read a study somewhere and that’s what it said, really.

                    There’d be fewer battles, less drugs and less crime and more happy moms and dads if we all lifted weights… let’s face it. In what recent medical journal was I reading that?

                      3 tblsp peanut butter, 3 tblsp honey, 1/2 cup uncooked oats at least 1 1/2 hr prior to training. if i train early in the morning, i dont eat first

                        one scoop of optimum protein in a shake and a natty peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole grain bread.
