  • Whey protein and stomach bloat.

I love Optimum Nutrition's whey, but it causes my stomach to bloat and I get sick at my stomach during workout. Is there anything I can take to stop this?

    Whey

What do you mix it with?

    Milk, Water or ??

I am sure you already thought of this, but if you are mixing it with milk, try mixing it with water or juice.

Did the bloating just recently come about, I mean have you used ON's whey in the past with no problems, or have you always gotten the bloating from ON's whey?

If always, then you may have to try a diff protein, maybe try one that is just Isolate, with no concentrate in it.

    Just some ideas.

try vanilla soy milk, the bloat may be caused form teh lactose, soy is lactose free adn will slightly slow down the absorbtion of the whey lactose

also, are you using a blender,, blenders always give me bloat,, i think it is from the air it puts in it,, try a shaker cup

Ginger root is great for stuff like bloating, gas etc. associated with protien shakes. It also said to help protien uptake

Yes, I have been using a blender. I also use water, never with milk. Now that I think about it, my stomach does bloat when I use a blender. I just can't explain the upset stomach.

            Try a pure isolate.

Tonight I used my shaker bottle instead of the blender and I didn't have any bloat or upset stomach. Solution: DESTROY THE FUCKING BLENDER!!!!

Glad it worked for you. I had the same problem. I usually make my shakes up a day in advance so they are all nice and dissolved
