  • Why am I always bloated????

Heres the deal. I have been cutting for the last week and I have not taken in any carbs at all. So far I am retaining my muscle mass and my abs are looking good occasionally. Regarding my abs, when I stand up straight and flex my abs you can totally see the six pack with definition. But when I do not stand up straight (bad habit I have) and just let my gut hang out you can barely see the top two abs only. My diet consists of tuna, eggs, chicken, and lean beef. I also take in a gallon of water and protein shakes (designer whey).

What is causing this bloat? Is it all the water? Is it the protein shakes I take 4 times day? Is there anything I can take to loss the bloated gut? Thanks and sorry for so many questions.

Maybe it's too much protein. I find that when my carbs are ultra low and my protein ultra high, I experience the same bloat you're describing...not to mention other stinky unmentionable sides

      new231,

Without going into tons of detail and asking questions, here's somethings to think about or try.

Everything you are eating, and it is great you are eating clean, is low low low sodium. Your body only handle that for so long, your muscle and body wants water.

Suggest, try and get in another 750-1000mg of sodium, and then stay consistent with it. If you sodium stays consistent and you give your body 1.5 gallons of water a day your body will know that it is getting fresh water all the time so it won't hold any extra, you need sodium to hold water in the muscles or you will be flat.

Gut issue, now it is going to seem little different, yet, suggestion is to do lower back strengthing. Do you do deadlifts, leg lifts, hyper-extensions, anything to strenghten the back will train the abs to work in conjunction and contract.

And in general we all have issues with bloat and to each of us it is personal and important, and a major pain, overall though with what sounds like your low bodyfat if you can get consistent with water level the bloat should go away.

      good luck
      hoped that helped

man, you need carbs, EVEN WHEN YOURE CUTTING!!! just decrease them and increase youre proteinintake slowly.
youre body blocks when you switch to fast onto only protein. you will loose weight, but mainly water...

Well in two weeks I have dropped 10 pounds and haven't lost any strength in the gym. My six pack is back and it is looking very good. I will take your advice luna and get the carbs back into the diet (but no starchy ones). Without the carbs I felt extremely moody and had no energy throughout the day. It will be good to eat them again!
