Quirky, I thought you might want to see my progress. My first competition I started at 125 lbs and weighed in at 108 lbs. Then in 2005 I weighed in at 112, so when I weighed in last year at 123. It felt great because that meant that I really added some muscle over the last 3 yrs.
Wow!!! I have a long way to go! You look awesome! Greg told me to keep my weight around 124 - 126 because of my build.
Right now you don't want to go all out and just eat anything, but you don't need to worry about loosing weight either. You want to put on as much muscle as you can between now and when you precontest dieting starts. You only need to be dieting for 12-14 wks out. If you are eating clean now, you will start leaning out while you are putting on muscle.
I usually try to stay 8-10 pounds out from competition weight. Right now I've gain too much, so I'm trying to get back to my 8-10 lbs limit.
I don't believe in "bulking" any more. The older you get the hard it is to take off those extra pounds. The truth is that you really don't have to put on all those extra pounds to gain muscle.
OMG girl!! You look amazing!!! So inspiring!! Thank you for posting these!
Thanks!!
I still haven't met my goal of winning competition. I have trouble getting that last fat off my @ss. I don't know why it's so difficult to get rid of. I've decided I'm not doing another competition until I can afford a trainer to help me with the final weeks.
