proff - Most studies ive read dismiss the toxicity of getting too much protein. I am probably getting more than enough protein but it's probably better that I am getting MORE than enough than not enough... Every trainer (DC, IA, SB, FUture, etc) has always reccommended @ LEAST 2 grams of protien per lb and much more protein if you are "on"... Ive never seen anyone big just get a low amount of protein (exceot dillet)..either way, im just doing what IA tells me too... but thanks for looking out, thats appreciated.!
Skarhead my love: u are taking too much protein on ur body weight..i'am not saying its BAD , but what i'am trying to say it's gonna go to waste and the professor was right about the toxity on teh liver and same wt teh multi vit, if u take too much of it, gonna me mess up ur liver.....
and as far for dillet and if u meant PAUL DILLET... on a low amount of protein??? that is bullshit..that guy is living on plasma expanders and heavy drugs..... it's like taking aas..tooo much of it gonna go to waste and AT TEH SAME TIME WILL FUCK UP UR LIVER..
    BUT IT'S UR CALL

Re: just took this one today

DEAR SKARHEAD FOR YOUR OWN GOOD:

Earlier today I was running up the side of a mountain with a good friend who is about to start racing some 31 and 50 mile races. He was asking me how he will need to change his diet. I told him that he was crazy... and then added he would need to eat more protein.

The body consumes significant amounts of protein from muscles when you run 50 miles at once without stopping, but it normally doesn't consume a lot of it. During normal exercise you only use protein for about 10% of your energy requirements. Most of the energy comes from carbohydrates and fats. Being involved in exercise, besides ultra-endurance events, doesn't mean you should eat more protein. It means that you should eat more complex carbohydrates like cereals and grains in order to keep your body from breaking down protein for energy.

Eating excessive protein, like most Americans do, is bad for your kidneys, liver, bones, cardiovascular system, and promotes vitamin and mineral deficiencies. It causes dehydration and is linked to osteoporosis, hypertension, and some forms of cancer. Too much protein is a bad thing. Proteins have nitrogen in them and their breakdown in the liver creates ammonia. Ammonia is toxic. It is a poison to every cell in your body, especially your brain cells. So you pee it out. This is partly the point in going pee, to save your body from ammonia. Excessive protein intake can also make your blood acidic. To resist this change your body forces water out of your blood and pulls calcium from your bones into it. Another problem with high protein intake is that it usually means certain foods, like brussel sprouts and other vegetables, are being displaced from the diet. This is a bummer because vegetables provide many important things like vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Despite popular belief, eating more protein will not help you make bigger muscles, unless you aren't eating enough protein. If you want to make your muscles bigger you need to give them appropriate stress and carbohydrates for fuel. The amount of protein that you need is dependent upon your sex and weight. A woman over 19 needs between 45-50 grams of protein a day. A man over 19 needs 58 - 63 grams of protein a day. And these requirements are much higher than the World Health Organization and many nutritional researchers believe. The average American male eats 125 grams of protein a day!

A bowl of Raisin Bran with a glass of nonfat milk to drink, two slices of cheese pizza, and a 4 ounce serving of salmon provides 60 grams of protein. If you eat enough fruits and veggies, you will exceed your daily needs. It's easy to eat too much protein. Replacing the pizza with a garden salad would reduce both the protein and fat in this daily sample. Read the labels on food items to get an idea of how much protein you're eating.

Many fad diets use high protein foods to force you to lose weight, but you aren't losing body fat this way. You only lose water, muscle tissue, and important minerals from your body. If you are presently on a diet that has you eating a lot of chicken or other meat products and avoiding carbohydrates, please stop. It's bad for you.
