  • Homemade muscle rub for pain

Found this somewhere and being that I am an essential oil nut, I will try this and wanted to share with you all too.

"This homemade muscle rub really works! It penetrates deep into the muscles, bringing a soothing and relaxing sensation"

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 cup coconut oil
    • 1/4 cup grated Bees wax
    • 2 tsp cayenne powder
    • 2 tsp ginger or turmeric powder
    • 15 drops peppermint essential oil
    • 15 drops lavender essential oil
    • Glass Jar

    Directions:

    • Pour all oils (except essential oils) in to a jar. Place a saucepan with 2 inches of water over medium low heat.
    • Place jar in saucepan and allow contents to melt. Stir to combine. Add the cayenne and ginger/turmeric.
    • Once combined, allow to cool slightly and then add in essential oils. Mix well.
    • Pour mixture into metal tins or storage containers and allow to set.

Re: Homemade muscle rub for pain

I have tried just a mixture of only peppermint and lavender with a carrier oil. Put it on the bottom of my feet before bed. Has been helpful with my allergies at lowering my histamine level. You are supposed to add lemon to that mix but I cant do lemon. If you are not experimenting with oils, you are missing out on some good therapy
