Tore my right pec 3 weeks ago. Was a painful experience to say the least. MRI shows about 1/3 of the muscle has torn away. After seeing 2 orthopedic surgeons, both say nothing can be done surgically to repair the damage. I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar injury and if so, what was done to aid recovery. I've been doing online research with various results. Thanks guys or gals (even though I found out there has never been a recorded case of a woman having a pec tear) for any input.

Re: Pec Tear - Anyone Else ??
if it is a muscle tear then yeah you are about 99% screwed but their is some surgeons that will attempt a fix up in indy. if it is a tendon then it most certainly can be reattached. i cant recall the doc's name but i had a friend that got reffered to him and had his fixed about 5 years ago. i know a couple power lifters that have torn theirs and they let it heal and are back at it doing what they did before. it just looks funky.
good luck man hopefully you can find someone to fix that bad boyTGBSupplements REP

Re: Pec Tear - Anyone Else ??
I've had a couple minor ones on my left pec but somehow always stop before it pops.
Here's my recipe: gh at the shoulder and the pec insertion, dmso and arnica gel several times a day on the area, ibprophen and Bayer back and body in intervals, and massage the area best you can little by little.
...I have also added tb500 for injuries. It does seem to help.
godspeed to your healing

Re: Pec Tear - Anyone Else ??
I partially tore my right pec last year. Rest bro. That was my treatment... I did cardio and want to say I was able to start doing some upper body after about a month. Guns is right... Trying to sew muscle back together is like trying to sew spaghetti noodles together.

As of now its been 6 or 7 weeks. Finally able to train back and shoulders again. I kept up on legs and extremely light arms, the whole time. Just doing extremely light weights on machine for pec deck and pec press. Slowly making progress. You don't know Peace til you've had Suffering!

Re: Pec Tear - Anyone Else ??
Was looking for just this type of post.
This morning while doing flat bench i went from 135 - 185 - 225 - 255 - 285 - 315 and that did it. While bringing down 315 i felt a little twinge in my right pec. it wasn't too painful but i know it did something. Stopped on chest and tried some very light back excercises. It was tight and a bit discomforting so i stopped completely and did cardio.
Right now while at office it does not hurt but can still feel it is tight. Put some Traumeel on it and took some advil.
From the advice above i'll take it easy for a few.
