You wouldnt believe the billions of dollars dentists are charging medicaid to fix all the f***d up teeth in thsi country by people abusing their teeth. People with jobs cant afford to go to the dentist regularly but people on medicaid get almost unlimited access to dentists. There is a dentist next door to where I work and he does mostly medicaid. So you see this constant flow of people going in there and they are almost all in horrible health and smoking and drinking big Gulps full of sugar..Must be costing the taxpayers a fortune. Free healthcare allows people to abuse themselves and let the government repair the damage

i am more concerned with it giving me a heart attack than rotting out my teeth. i take good care of my teeth but i would be willing to bet that the way people use whiteners and crap like that all the time def contributes to a lot of the dental issues that most people have

Very true guns. I see so much of the whitening stuff all the time...really not sure if all of it is healthy for your teeth in the long run.
I brush and floss every day...have since I was a teenager and so far no problems!

how dare you blame this on the person who should be responsible for their own body! it is the government's job to take care of us and make sure we brush our teeth. I am going to run for senator and get tax payer funded personal hygeine assistants for everybody in the USA and of course send them to developing nations too at your expense. that old adage "God helps them who helps themselves" is wrong. should be the government with our tax dollars.

of course this article is about the UK. kind of a stereotype for them to have bad teeth. Teeth is just a symptom of a bigger problem
