    Pro obesity movement?

I read the article and it boils down to people overeat (good and bad foods) and do not exercise enough. Stupid. When I was a teen in the 80s a fat person was one that had a belly, and not a big belly mind you. A few pounds over. Obese people were an anomaly. There were overweight folk by 15# but truly gigantic fatties were rare.

the cost of these people's choices, and fat people HAVE A CHOICE, is passed onto we the fit folk that eat right and train through their exponentially higher cost to insure. IMO fat people at a higher risk should pay more. Just like a 17 year old boy pays more for auto insurance that a 30 year old woman. Why not for fatties? It would lower my insurance premiums significantly as I use my insurance 1-2X a year when I have a cold and that is it. It is fair, if you consume more you pay more this is not a buffet at a golden corral.

very well said jipped and we have had the discussion a few times about the older generations and your diet and drinking choices. not to mention smoking and all the other unhealthy practices they chose. they lived forever and had far fewer diseases all the while eating lard fat back etc.... it's because they didnt sit around on their asses. that's my observation and it's pretty simple and another example of wasted money on studies that are common sense
