People following the military diet spend 3 days restricting their calorie intake and then have 4 days of regular eating. Supporters of the diet believe that it can help people lose weight quickly, but a lack of variety could mean that people miss out on some nutrients. Learn more about this diet here.

Not sure how it got that name. When I was in the military I consumed about 6,000 calories a day. High protein and fat. My weight went from 162 to 179 eventually
nacho bar.. taco bar.. waffle bar.. even the salad bar is lame. best thing youll get on a base is an egg white omlete in the morning. base food is straight up high calorie high fat tones of fried chicken and fish.. even the veggies are greasy most of the time.
they have a larger selection of deserts than healthy food options.
I got deployed to an air force base in Thailand from Diego Garcia in the 70s. Air Force chow is great. I was a Seabee in our battalion were Marines and Seals. Always in a place not fit to live in our chow was not good but eatable at best. But either you ate it or did without

oh man the dessert bar is and was always on point. now if you want to talk about top quality garbage chow hall food. the kdr chow halls in iraq and stan are the absolute shit. terrible for you food but top of the line. what i did to make it work for me, is i would get the omlettes for breakfast and then go back and get a ton of hard boiled eggs to take with me. while i was operating out of a major base for a few months, i made friends with one of the contractors that worked for kbr. he would hook me up with boneless skinless chicken, eggs, steak etc.... that wasnt the case for everyone else though
gotta love it those DFAC contracts are to the lowest bidder.. what do you think the food is gonna taste like..
what about the curry? it tastes like curry is in almost everything.. ya.. NO.. omletes and sandwiches.. boiled eggs are ok but had a taste.. and where boiled like an hour so rubbered up..
I was so happy to get out of there.. never thought you would miss taking a crap but... eat that food.. youll know...
the amount of chicken nuggets and French fries consumed was only surpassed by mcdonalds.. haha
