If you get the job done well before the last week of contest preparation, you will become virtually "bullet-proof."
The best way to create a "perfect" last week food and water intake contest preparation strategy is to get in incredible shape. The last week will not make you or break you as many misguided bodybuilders believe.
What you do during those 12 to 20 weeks before that last week arrives will. If you get the job done well before the last week of contest preparation, you will become virtually "bullet-proof."
Bullet-proof, as I refer to the term as it relates to getting ready for a show, means that you look so great that it's almost impossible to ruin that amazing physique that you've created.
What you do during your many weeks of contest preparation will significantly augment the results from what you do during the last week—or hurt what you do.
What you don't do during the many weeks of contest preparation can never be salvaged by what you do during the last week. There's no substitute for hard work. There are no "smoke and mirror" magic tricks that are going to save your butt if you don't work diligently and intelligently during the many weeks of contest preparation.
Don't believe the bitter and misguided second-rate competitors who tell you they looked great—but blew all of their hard work during the final week. Things were blown long before then.
That may sound harsh, but even I've had to accept that unpleasant reality check many times throughout my competitive bodybuilding career.
