    Re: The vertical diet

Wow that would be called the anti fart diet. I can't understand not eating certain foods like broccoli just because it contains a minute amount of a carb that we do not digest. Everything else about broccoli is excellent for you. other than taking out potentially beneficial foods it is very similar to like the paleo diet. Whole foods with a focus on micro nutrients.

Hey I bet it works great. My only note is that as we "cultivate" our gut microbiome we let create an environment which we do not need to make enzymes to break down raffinose or phytic acid to name a couple. Our "bugs' do that for us. So just playing devils advocate, it seems that the creator of this diet has done a ton of research on what our body can and can't break down for maximum bioavailability and ease of digestion. But did not take into account our microbiota. Or maybe did and discounted it. If you eat broccoli very frequently your gut bacteria samples will change to break down raffinose and the gastric distress (if you have any) will go away because it is no longer a problem.

Anyway. I like getting rid of the processed veggie oils, sugar and the stupid high PH water. Let us know how it goes. I bet you feel great!

I'm moving a state over west to work for a year so the only thing I'll have to do work amd workout. I have a few people (mostly crossfitters and 3 body builders) have been on this "diet" and they all say they feel so much better. I'm going to give it a run and see how it treats me.

their are always ways to offset the gut issues with broc and other things. got to keep some of that stuff in to help with our health i think and i hate broc but i eat it. i am also a firm believer in being realistic with any diet approach. you have to be in a cal def to lose and a cal surplus to gain. some minor dos and donts on both of those but for the most part that's all you need. some do like specific approaches but at the end of the day that's what it comes down to
