I have a very bad knee and can not squat....squat! what can I do to build up the size of my upper legs without killing my knee?

Tweetwow....i cant think of anything you could do to hammer them without putting pressure on the knee. i got a bad knee that comes out of socket....i have a hard time with heavy squats, but leg press's and hacks never bothered it. also, extentions that you dont go ALL the way down on, with high reps, was good

Can you do squats with light weights at all? I'd say keep it light and just don't push it. My new theory for us older folks is train not strain. Do something light is better than nothing at all, but the key is if it hurts don't do it.
