TweetI bet it does. I've got pretty long arms and it would make sense why I can't lift much. Either that or I'm just a big *****!
Tweetive always wondered if longer arms would make u do less for bench press because u have more distance to go then say a guy with shorter arms. Does arm length matter when it comes to doing more weight?

TweetDef. makes a difference. The amount of energy required is greater because you have to push it farther. The degree of angle during bench when you are in the down position is greater. Some of these short arm guys with a decent size chest hardly move the bar at all. My jacket length is 39'', you don't just walk in a store and buy of the shelf!!
Tweetyea i agree it is harder, my chest/tris are stronger then my buddies and he benches more because he is 5'7 with short arms to go with his body, im 6'2 and my arms hang to my knees when at my side and the final push to lock is the hardest for me. my wing span is 71. he thinks it is funny but when it comes to isolations movements on chest and tries (flyes, french press, etc) i blow him away. Bench numbers dont tell the whole story.
Tweetyea my workout partners 6'2 and im 5'8 im stronger than him at every push exercise (bench, shoulder press etc) but hes stronger than me in most isolation movements.

"Don't look at the weight, just lift the shit! Limits are for people who have them."
Tweetyea cus i have a friend thats 140lbs 5"3 and can bench press 260 its funny and im 6"1 6"2 186lbs and i bench the same haha
TweetYes longer arms do make a difference. Check out this equation from physics, w=FD (work = force times distance). The more distance there is the greater work you do.
Tweetdefinately makes a difference
TweetLonger arms do however equal more power in arm wrestling. For leverage every 1" = 10x power

TweetI work chest once a week and I usually do my first set where I fail at about the 10 th rep. 2nd set I fail at the 8th set. 3rd set I fail at the 6th set. and 4th set I usually can pump out 5 more reps. I do exactly 1min 30 second rest between each set. Thats my flat bench workout.
for incline I usually do it the same.
Decline's I usually do a few more reps.
TweetShould I be keeping my rep range lower???
