Has anyone heard of this diet or used it? I have been reading some very good results from this diet from some very respected trainers. It kind of goes completely against the 6 meal a day and spread your macros out type of diets that we are used to.

Basically you don't eat anything all day and then you have a 4 hour window to get in all your macros at night. It sounds terrible, but I have read on mulitple sites how well it works. Iron Addict is the trainer I mentioned above tand he has been doing it since last year and he says that he has never had this much energy or has never been this lean before. It's not for building mass too much, just for leaning down.

Never heard of it, but I wonder what happens when you start to eat on a normal schedule again? This definitely sounds to me a like a short term plan. No food at all day also seems like hormones, especially insulin, would be going crazy. I personally don't like the sound of this.

See that's what everyone's thought were intitially until they tried it. I am going to get the book today and read about it. From what I have read, it's more that just short term...it is actually a lifestyle change. But those are just thread replies. I will let you know as I read the book.

Well, like I said, it's not a bodybuilding diet. It's a lean, athletic type of diet I guess. Iron Addicts's site has some good info on it. And he says that he really likes it. He has actually made a few changes to it and adapted it to what he wants...he says that you can build mass with it too if it's done right....(I am pretty sure he is the one that said this, but don't quote me on that part).

I asked about the diet and this was Iron Addicts response:

They will both work, take your pick. The warrior diet is proving to be a good recomp diet as more and more results come in daily. I have 25 or so people on the diet now. More than that on TCD's they both work well dependent on where the calories are set.

All you can do is try it and see for yourself. I think, longterm, it would be a hard lifestyle change to maintain. There are so many different diet plans that it can get crazy. I like to stick with the basics. The Anti-Estrogenic Diet might be something I would like to read.

I agree and I wouldn't plan on it being my lifestyle either. I would just use it to drop my bodyfat to where I wanted it and then do a clean bulk until I get where I want to be. Then I would just eat clean to maintain.

You need to eat 6 meals a day. 3 basic 3 snacks, you need to speed up your metabolism. You need certian nutrients in your body.

You cant do both, you either have to drop your bodyfat then eat cleaner to maintain it. you have to eat clean to drop bf%.You need to eat dude. and it seems your in a rush and want to lose weight like right now. It takes a long time to drop good quality weight.you dont want to drop the weight to fast. This warrior diet forget about it.I had posted somehwere that you should find a good clean healthy eating plan throughout the day and stick with it for 6 months. You need cardio also.slow down dont let all these diets confuse you and dont use the word diet its all about healthy eating. How is this warrior diet going to speed up your metabolism if your only eating for a short period of time.

From reading the logic in the book, the warrior diet speeds up metabolism without eating during the day. I'm not trying to do both at the same time. I realize that I need to drop the bf% first before doing anything. I have been pretty patient. I am not frustrated or discouraged and I have been eating clean for a few months now.

      From the book:
"When you divide meals into 3 to 6 per day, like most typical diets suggest, and each meal is approx. 150-300 calories, that's what the body adapts to. The Warrior Diet concept is different . It's built on extremes similar to athletic training. So when you consume, for instance, 1000 to 1500 calories in a meal, that's what the body will adapt to. There's an overall thermogenic effect with increased energy expenditure that occurs with such intense meals; the body tries to increase its metabolism in accordance with the high energy intake.

Studies conducted on mice showed that mice fasting for 18 hours, without being everfed first, suffered from low thyroid and slow metabolism. However, mice that were overfed and then went through an 18 hour fast kept their thyroid hormone at a normal level and their metabolism high. Based on warrior diet testimonials, there is growing evidence that those who undereat and overeat notice a gradual increase in their metabolism."

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO SAYS MOST TYPICAL DIETS ARE 150-300 CALORIES PER SERVING AND LIKE I SAID I DONT BELIEVE IN DIETS I BELIEVE IN HEALTHY EATING.MY BREAKFAST ALONE IS MORE THEN 150-300 CALORIES AND ITS HEALTHY,LOW IN FAT

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ADD THAT IRON ADDICT HAS HELPED ME AND HAS WRITTEN A FULL WORKOUT SCHEDULE FOR ME AND A NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM AND ITS NOT THIS WARRIOR DIET.CERTIAN TRAINERS WILL HAVE THER OWN WAY OF DOING THINGS BUT LETS LOOK AT FACTS AND MEDICAL FINDINGS AND THE PROVEN FACT IS THAT BODYBUILDERS EAT CONSTANTLY AND 6 MAYBE EVEN MORE MEALS A DAY AND PEOPLE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT EAT 6 MEALS A DAY AND LOSE THE WEIGHT.
