There were some that used to dominate that list 20yrs ago, that now, no longer even make the top 15.
          Miami
          Atlanta
          New York

It was the '96 Olympics that cleaned up Atlanta.

And I wonder how many of these cities have Democrat Mayors and Congressman who promise to clean up their cities and reduce crime and poverty. Glenn Beck talked about this in one of his books, Common Sense, and explained that most of the cities with high poverty and crime rates have had Democrat leadership for decades, which promised to lower the crime and poverty only to see it actually increase. Thus, more proof that politicians do not fix anything, nor do they care.

Yessir, that is the case with most of the cities with high poverty and crime. I think it was Beck's book Common Sense, but either way I know he discussed it once with statistical evidence of course to prove it. The dems always campaign to the lower class with promises to improve their standard of living, reduce crime, add jobs, etc. Well, once they get elected nothing changes, and the fact is that most of these cities have had mostly all democrat leadership from Mayor to Congressman to Police Chiefs to Senators, etc. The fact is the politicians do not care one hoot about the poor, nor do they intend to help them. The poverty rate and crime has increased in most of the worst cities and the fact is they have been under democrat leadership for decades in many of them. Another one of the cities under democrat leadership that performs horribly is New Orleans. I will find some statistics to support all of this. I am actually working on two websites of my own and this is one of the areas I will discuss.

i can see it here...you aint gotta post up to prove it too me. i agree that dems campaign to the lower class and i agree, that once elected, they dont do shyt. i see it here every election. its funny...the 2 biggest counties in michigan are oakland and wayne county....they are located next too each other (detroit city is in wayne). oakland county is primaraly repub and wayne is dem. its night and day...oakland has, what was once, one of the richest cities in the country by capita (birmingham) and a lot of other city that are still well off (bloomfield, troy....) the dark spot on oakland is pontiac....democrat, lol.
wayne is a train wreck!!! all cities located in wayne are high in crime and poverty and very low in $....
i see your point completely...just never thaught about it

                        Re: America's most "dangerous" cities.

yep Dave. It is a direct link. That's the deal with Jersey. That's what's up with Detroit, and a list longer than that one I posted. They listed about 20-30 cities that have been ran by democrats promising greener grass for decades, only to run them farther and farther into the gutter.
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. Politics are crooked, but the left wingers redefine "crooked". They sell everything on a silver platter. "I'm cleaning these streets up. It's time to end poverty for this town". And it's sank deeper and deeper into the shytter. All while someone's getting richer. As these towns get poorer, someone gets richer. For a while, at least, because they are the cities and states that are taxed the most. There's a direct corelation to tax hikes and econoimy going to hell. If you offer a good service, or have a good product(business) in such a town, but you can't keep afloat because all your gains are taken by the city and/or state. What's the smartest business move? Get the hell outa dodge. So these decent hard workin, money makin, tax payin, ethical people, take their asses to truly greener grasses. Then, what gets left behind. You guessed it.
Take the Hurricane Katrina scenario. A perfect example of this compacted into just a few short days. New Orleans isn't nothing but ghetto, but it sure looked that way when the news channels were covering Katrina's aftermath, because everybody with 2 brain cells and a way knew to get the hell out of that soup-bowl when a Category 5 is bearing down on it. Who was left behind? Everybody that depended on someone, such as a governing force, to help them. If these people hadn't foolishly bought that same old sales pitch, they might've had a people in position to act promptly to bus them to saftey. Too bad for them, incompetence was at the wheel. Then, after the storm, you had a murder count, which rose as the water receded. It was a field day for criminals. Most all the good ethical folks were gone, responsibly. Who was left behind? The opposite. Of course not all these people were bad. Some good folks in a bad situation, and some bad folks that turned a bad situation worse. Just like a number of cities that have bought into, and depended on, that same ole sales pitch.

Same stuff happens here in Chicago. I think because Chicago is a larger city, they can't say that it is "unsafe" as a whole. There are many places in Chicago that are "safe" but then many that would be considered "unsafe". Who knows what criteria this report was pulled from.

i know what you mean...i would assume they pulled it per capita...how many people live in the city compaired to deaths and violent crimes...detroit has fallen like a rock in its number of citizens. there's far less than 1 million and the ones that stayed....well most of them are of the unsavory sort...if you know what i mean. flint is the same...your talking about 2 of the largest citiies in the nation at one time....now an empty war zone
