Never went to see this at the movies. But now that i am doing netflix im catching up on a lot of cool flicks. Really liked this one. Glad they showed it in the light they did esoecially how steroids played only a small part in his life. They were a means not an end. in the scene where hes getting gear in the locker room from the dealer and hes offering him percs, vics and oxys he says no im just gonna get big and strong. Liked how they showed that thisis all some of these guys have and they aren't ready when the curtain falls on their career and they have nothing else. willing to die in the ring for the fans as that is the only place they feel aalive and loved. One humorous moment was when he was getting his gear and when he asks about gh tthe dude says he has one brand and chinese stuff and Ram says i don;t want that chinese shit. Out of nowhere i said oh hell the chinese stuff is just as good and a lot cheaper. My wife just shook her head.

GREAT WORK OF ART, TRUE ART
having written several books and movies and knowing all the tricks of the trade, etc., once a year or every few years the joy is watching one of these and becoming involved emotionally, still knowing all the tricks
depressing, oh yeah.................still as jack says, "the truth, you can't handle the truth"
truth in art, storytelling etc. is rare, mostly it's an escape or good time, not much truth, yet, a good story for most all

Just saw this moving last night and really felt bad for the guy. Wrestling consumed his life and whne it was over depression set in.
Big Dawg - thought the same thing with the scenen in the locker room and HGH. Said to myself, been using that for a while and its great.
Another scene that turned my stomach a bit was when he poked himself and shot the plunger down sooooo quick. Don't know bout you guys but i don't poke nearly as fast. I go nice and slow.

That movie changed my life. I'm not ashamed to admit I couldn't wait to get out of the theather so I could have a good cry. And I was so pizzed when Mickey R didn't win the Oscar!UComment
