Anyone have any good ideas for foods that i can make at my house that are healthy and can be made in large quantities so i can store them in the fridge and just eat it whenever i please. I need this cause I am pretty lazy when it comes to making food all the time and this means fast food alot of the time and im trying to get my diet on track so i can drop some fat while still building muscle and gaining strength. the only idea i have right now is a huge pot of chili that i can eat every now and then.

I like to just cook meat in the crock pot. The meat will last a week after you cook it and you will have protein whenever you need it.

We have a grocery outlet where I buy big ol' cans of salmon pretty cheap. clean,..no skin or ugly junk in it either, and tons of protein. or I buy a roast and make jerky using different kinds of chips. cherry, apple, alder and mesquite are my favorites. this I can bring with me on the trail or munch on while im on the road. (word of caution while makin jerky),..have lots of snacks on hand while you're waiting !

I will grill up 2-3 flank steaks. It's the leanest meat (cow meat) there is. There is like no fat and the little fat there is is usually burned off on the grill. I sprinkle Fajita seasoning on it prior to and while grilling. At the same time, I have 2 cans of pinto beans on the stove and several servings of Basmati rice (it's the lowest white rice on the glicemic index list and it's lower than most brown rice) cooking. When it's all done, I mix the rice, pinto beans, cut up steak and some chunky salsa (medium or hot) in several bowls. Each one is like 60 grams of protein, 50 grams of carbs (good carbs) and then you have the fiber and the veggies that make up the salsa. All in all, it's an awesome meal for any time. If you are bulking you increase the rice, if you are cutting, you cut back on the rice. You can do the same thing with grilled chicken and even grilled pork to change things up. By far, this is one of the easiest meals to make and once done, you have food for a few days. If you are clever, you will grill up the chicken and pork at the same time and then you have different meals. I can tell you this, it gets old eating the same thing 3-4 meals in a row. LOL

Boil 12 chicken breast, put them in Tupperware with your favorite meal, add sauce as you like to each container and you have a meal when you need/want it..

this can get old, but it works very well, you can change up the sauce as you like.. lemon, pepper, hot sauce..

just watch out that you don't get sauces high in sugar or salt or carbs if you are cutting..

that's is the toughest thing right there because any good sauce is usually going to have sugar, salt or both. LOL

That's why I like rubs or seasoning. You can let it cook in without having to put much on, just grill it at a lower temp for longer so it really soaks into the meat.
