TweetI think it would depend on what kind you get. Asprin and Ibuprofen are non steroidal anti-infamatories so they would probably be ok. I'm just making an educated guess though, I'll bump for ya for more feedback
Tweetdo they do anything to affect the use of AS use. i take some for my wrist and i have 3 degenerative discs in my back, and if they effect my cycle i am going to stop taking them.
thanks

I bend but I do not break.
TweetPinCushion is on the right track.
nsaids (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) will not affect AS use at all.
steroidal (not anabolic though) anti-inflammatories are actually catabolic and can hinder your gains IF they're used SYSTEMICALLY (injected), which means not on your skin. if used systemically they're catabolic b/c they're basically a stress hormone that gets your body ready for any kind of stress by raising your blood glucose level. in doing so some protein is degraded and a myriad of other chemical cascades take place that result in bone loss, anxiety, decreased white blood cell activity, etc.

Tweetibuprofen may cause stomach bleeding, especially during exercise. It may also interfere with recovery. However, if you are in pain, then I guess you have no choice. Vioxx is a good anti-inflammatory.

Tweeti take vioxx hasnt hindered my gains
TweetLet's see, I take about four IBupro's a day a gained 32 lbs last cycle.
TweetI dug this up over at CEM:
Nandi:
That is an interesting question. In one of the two original papers that described the inhibitory effects of antiinflammatories on muscle protein synthesis (1), the authors puzzled over the fact that acetaminophen, which is not supposed to be an antiinflammatory, impaired PGF2-alpha synthesis comparably to ibuprofen in skeletal muscle. Moreover, ibuprofen at the dosage used in the study (1200mg/day) has primarily analgesic properties and minimal if any antiinflammatory properties. The authors speculated that since the COX isoform(s) present in skeletal muscle have not been characterized, these two drugs may be working through an as yet unidentified isoform of cyclooxygenase to elicit their effects on PGF2-alpha synthesis in skeletal muscle.
Interestingly, in a paper just published, a new isoform of cyclooxygenase, COX3 is described (2). It sounds like this isoform is expressed primarily in the cerebral cortex and heart.
So there may very well be even more COX's, one of which is located in skeletal muscle and through which acetaminophen and ibuprofen are working to inhibit PGF2-alpha and impair protein synthesis.
Would the COX-2 inhibitors bind to this potential COX isoform? That is a good question. I think a study similar to (1) using a COX-2 inhibitor would have to be undertaken to answer that definitively.

Tweeti dont much believe clinical studies u know ive sen so many sayin anabolic steroids do absolutely nothing to help increase muscle mass in atheletes
TweetI was taken 150mg ed of vioxx sometimes and it did not do shit. then i got on celebrex and life was great after thatOriginally posted by Manic Behavior

TweetHow about Pain Killers Vicodin/percocet or Oxycontin (which is percocet without the acetaminophen. I have a bad back and the doc switched me to oxycontin because it does not contain Tylenol (acetaminophen) which can cause havoc on the liver. Does the narcotic portion (Oxycodone) interfere with AS gains? I am used to the medication so I don't get buzzed or loopy any more like I did in the beginning so it doesn't interfere with my workouts or intensity. I was just wondering if it would inhibit my gains or slow down my ability to drop my bodyfat.

Tweetthanks fellas i appreciate the posts
im stopping all use of any anti inflamitories becuase its just not worth it. they only kill like 20%of the pain anyways
