TweetI look back on my life and I swear I dont remember the number of jobs I got fired from. In college I worked at retail in malls and I bet I got for from like 5 or more jobs for just fucking around and not taking orders from anyone. When I was younger I always figured that one of these days I will hav emy own damn business and I wont have to take shit from anyone, so fuck you dont tell me what to do lol
I got fired once from a Bennigans as a waiter because some family walked out on a waitress without giving a waitress a tip and went out to their car and told off the dad for stiffing that girl. Right in front of his family, I told him he has no business going to a restaurant if he cant leave a tip. I remember turning over my green waiter apron to the boss and going to the bar to have a beer after he canned my ass.

In my job I have to be certified every year and take tests to be able to do what I do. Even that much authority over me pisses the hell out of me and I hate that they sometimes try to wield their power and be hard asses.

But otherwise, I think people should try to be their own boss and control their own life and destiny as best as we can with as little authority telling us what to do as possible.

TweetCouldn't agree more man. I have never been fired. But have spent most of my life eating the shit sandwich. With some dumbass I can work circles around telling me what to do. Now I have a cool boss he tells me what he needs from me for the week on Monday and I don't here from him again until the next Monday unless we're just shooting the shit. The only downfall is i honestly hate my job. But the money is decent for the area.

TweetIt all ends up working out. Back in 2002 I had worked for Ameritech. Now I had only been there a couple years and made good money but wasn't given enough work so I was bored. Then a "big layoff" comes and I knew I would be one of many, to go. They hung on to all the old workers. I get called in my bosses office and she told me what I already knew. I told her that it was their loss because they never gave me a chance to show my true potential. Walked out and came home to find out the arlines also had a big layoff. So here Fuzo and I are getting ready for me to do my 4th invitro and bam I get pregnant with twins. Both not working and happy as we could ever be. Fuzo got work somewhere immediately and I was hanging on the couch eating,lol. Point is, we should always stand up for ourselves and our beliefs but we also need to realize their may be a consequence that impacts us directly.

Tweeti owned a carpet cleaning business. I would pay for advertising, then go out and bid jobs then call my crew to come do the job on a scheduled date. at first I was making money hand over fist then people started canceling jobs I had set up. My guys were going to the job which they made 20% of the net and telling the customer they would do the job for 1/2 the price if they pay cash and they would use my trucks, equipment and chems to do the job and steal my $

i could not afford to advertise anymore so I had to sell my equipment and trucks. one guy said all the equipment got stolen right after i told him to bring it in to me.

I now work for a municipality, I love it. 20 years in. 5 more and I can retire young.

TweetI hate being at work. I have several bosses and they all tell me what to do all day. If I get swamped, or don't get to something done when they want it done, I have all of them come by and let me know. What's even worse is when my immediate boss tells me to do something, then his boss (which is also my boss technically) changes his mind and decides not to pursue it. Then they both come to me telling me to stop what I'm doing and move to something else. Makes my head spin sometimes. One of these days I would love to have my own business. With as hard as I work and as much dedication I put into a place that I hate, I can only imagine how I would be putting that same work ethic into something I love.

Tweeti worked 20 years being a yes man taking it up the poop shoot. today managers dont have the ethics or skills they did in the past. that degree dont get you respect you earn it.. not to them tho. a smart company knows customer first and close 2nd your employees.. not your profit because guess who keeps those customers happy.

today i work around the US taking jobs where i can make the most money and have a direct finish date. not sure where ill end up but never being a sucker yes man again for people who feel you owe them .. save that for the young and dumb. employment today is something else

TweetBeing an entrepreneur isnt for everyone, I understand that. It can be damn lonely and damn scary at times. Right now I am staking everything I have on this one turn of the wheel to start a whole new business venture. Ive p0ushed all my chips to the middle of the table.
But You have to be okay with waking up at 3 am worrying and scared shitless because every last penny and every last drop of blood you have is going into launching this enterprise. There are days you dont have a penny to your name because your last penny went into the business. No social ife. No movies. No sporting events. No vacations. As long as youre okay with that, then you can do it. If you go to sleep with it and then wake up working on it, obsessed with your dream, youre going to make it
