Just bought a Stihl weed trimmer with the bicycle handlbars. Its a beast. Wow, I love stuff with massive power. Made in Germany I think. I heard Stihl is the best so we shall see. Anyone use any Stihl stuff? I might need to get me a Stihl chainsaw next

I have lil 28 bar chainsaw I got at a hockshop for $150 bucks and it Stihl runs great after 20 somethin' years. A lot of the loggers up here run either the Stihl or Oregon saws, Oregon being the preferred.

Wow! Bump this. Kudos to Stihl. This machine is everything it says it is. You are right abt spend the money and only spend it once.
Very impressed with how the Stihl rep handled this whole thing. I had an aftermarket head installed by the Stihl guy, which makes it much easier to change lines , problem was, I was blowing through lines every 2 minutes. I called the Stihl rep and he gave me two free boxes of heavier cutting lines. He said "Give me a call and let me know if they worked" Wow. I put the bigger lines on this beast and omg. This is a weed wacking monster.
I might need to send a letter to that store commending them for excellent service

dzone back in 1999 my home depot lawn mower kept breaking down. it was either broke during the mowing or after the mowing.. well a good friend of mine owns a large landscaping company and cuts grass and has made a great life for himself so I was talking to him about my lawn mower issue and he told me to go and buy a commercial zero turn mower. I was like huh spend that much money.. he said yes you are going to cutting grass the rest of your life.. he was right so I went to a commercial mower place and asked to demo a mower at my house which is an arce of grass.. they looked at me being a home owner and said nah your not going to spend this much money on a mower.. so I said fine and went some where else.. found the scag delaer my friend uses to buy his mower which is also the stihl dealer and told him what I wanted.. he brought a mower to my house Friday night and let me cut my grass with it and man was this thing nice 44" cut 17hp Kawasaki engine large 23" tires on the rear.. he picked it up Monday morning and I told him I would take it.. that mower cost me 6k at the time they are over 8k now.. but I haven't done nothing to that mower bedside change the oil replace batteries and replaced the voltage regulator and replaced the belts.. I blow it off after each use I still own it to this day and it works great you can get on that thing and start it right up and mow with no issues its the best money I've spent on yard equipment.. my ex-wife wasn't happy when I bought it.. but that thing is going on 20yrs old and it mows an acre of grass every week in the summer and a couple times a month in the winter..

fill with gas and replace blades is the most I have to do.. I service it every winter and give it the once over to get it ready for the summer mowing season.. money well spent.. this is also the reason why all of my other stuff is commercial equipment stuff also all of that stuff at home depot or lowes is throw away stuff..

You are so right. I dont even buy stuff anymore unless it is commercial grade. I told the Stihl guy I wanted the biggest most powerful trimmer they had, for professional jobs. Ya, I got a cheap Husqvarna weed wacker and didnt last long at all. It couldnt stand up to the abuse
