  • My Dad....

he is one of my best buds! He always had/has a saying for everything or a song for one. I find myself saying some of the things he used to say and saying them back to him. I think the 'oldtimers" just have a way about them. When I posted that funny about diarrhea this morning, I thought of a joke my dad used to say.

dad- "Have you ever heard of the Rhia sisters?"

    me- "no" dad

Their names are Pya, Dia, and Gona"

    me- 'lol"

I could go on and on between what he and my very sarcastic grandpa would say. I would rather hang with the oldies these days

    Re: My Dad....

can't forget about Mom! Don't know where I would be without her. She has been my rock all my life. I Hope to be all the MOM she has been to me.

What has brought me to this post is seeing my parents lately and realizing how getting older is setting in with them. It scares me and saddens me at times but they always have a smile for us and never complain. I have to ask both of them at least twice how they are REALLY feeling.

      Re: My Dad....

I love the old timers. I sit down with my dad all the time and we just talk about anything and everything. I'm very close with my parents and know exactly what you mean. I think we tend to picture our parents the way they were when we were kids. But I do catch myself seeing them now that we are all older and really taking an initiative in making sure they are always doing well. It's pretty neat when you think about it... They've watched us grow, but now that I'm older and see the world as a man, I'm watching them grow as well.

It is hard when you realize they are "old" or they start giving things out that we like when we go see them.
