I know you need to get vitamin c from fruit, because its hard to absorb from vitamins. Some things like omegas you have to take supplements because there's not enough in fish to make a big difference.
Most people who eat properly should never need a vitamin supplement. But what about us that train hard? It is possible that we may become deficient in certain vitamins or minerals. Certain diets that restrict carbs, fruits and veggies, can cause a person to become V/M deficient. There are circumstances that would cause a person to need a M/V supplement.
To me, the study is flawed because it doesn't take into account every situation. Besides midst V/M supplements are excreted out if not utilized so my motto is better safe than sorry.
But it is highly unlikely that any of us reading this would ever need a V/M supplement.
If you are eating a well rounded diet you will be fine, however, who all eats a WELL rounded diet? Many vitamins are missed because they are only found in certain foods that many people do not eat daily. Supplementing daily is ok, you don't need to get the best most expensive one out there and many don't even need to take a full dose everyday, making it even cheaper for you. I take a men's multi that says I need to take two a day and I only take one because I know it's all I need to hit my 100% in most categories, however I still lack in a few others.
