TweetYou don't having a spending problem if you increase revenue and you don't have a revenue problem if you decrease spending.
Tax rates are at an all time low and some billion dollar corporations pay zero taxes by using loopholes, all while their executives get filthy rich and pay less and less wages and cut medical benefits to the employees that actually do all the work.
TweetVery true. How come the left and the media don't call out Obama for allowing those corporations to pay 0? It's downright despicable.
As for your former statement, "you don't have a spending problem if you increase revenue," there isn't enough income to tax to pay for the level of spending and debt our country has accumulated. Remember, a government's means of income is taxation. I read somewhere that even if you taxed every millionaire in this country at 100% of their income you would only be able to maintain the government's spending for about 6 months. Thus, we don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem, and neither party is serious about fixing it. Republicans will spend on defense and Obama will spend on social programs and defense.

TweetIf you compare tax rates that we have now to the rates 40 years ago, they're way lower now. And when you consider that the filthy rich and massive corporations can get away w paying little to no taxes because of loopholes, I'd say we do have both a revenue and spending problem.
The idea is that if you lower taxes on the rich, jobs are created-lol (this is the Kool aid the rich have been feeding the masses). What a joke when you look how prosperous we were when taxes were higher. Now that corporate taxes are so low, executives are the richest they've ever been, wages and benefits are shit and companies are sitting on record profits.

The real problem brother is not who we voted for in office its who we DIDNT vote for and have remained there for decades getting richer and ricer off of all of us all.It doesnt matter what puppet we get being called "president",that title means nothing more than a media figure now.The real powers that be are congress, and corporate america who fill these politicians pockets.
Until we can vote these losers out we will never make any changes.

I agreew with you to a point. The taxes that the middle class are paying need to be taken more from these rich theives. The whole argument that if corportae america has to pay more taxes means they will not be able to afford to hire more people and in fact have to let more people go.Thats cute but enenployment has never been higher so who are they hiring now that they do get to avoid these hefty tax hikes through the many loop holes?? I heard so many times people saying "I DONT KNOW ANY POOR PEOPLE CREATING JOBS" Well when the rich start instead of taking million dollar bonuses for running a business into the ground than i'll start to agree with them.
The problem is taxes from people who are struggling to survive as it is means huge amounts vs the rich who throw away money everyday on their extravagant lifestyles. Its about having the means bro.Poor means poor,so any little bit more the govt takes out of their pockets to fill theirs can make or break another working class family.

TweetI couldn't agree more! When I, as a middle class person pay a higher rate of taxes then GE (who paid zero last year) or billionaires, something is not right.
TweetFree market economics is something I study and write about regularly. I don't agree with you on taxes but I do see your point about CEOs. It's too big of a discussion to go into but basically Keynesian economic policies are all false and have proven to be failures in every country where it's practiced. The Austrian school is the model I favor and believe has it right. The best book for those who don't understand economics or the Austrian school (free market approach) is Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt. The left has it all wrong and the right sometimes talks a good game but never backs it up. I tend to think it is common since but apparently it's not to all. If you raise taxes on people they have less to spend on the economy which does indeed hamper economic growth. The same goes for corporate tax rates, which is why so many corporations move overseas. They also leave higher tax states when it gets too expensive as can be seen with many companies that left CA such as In and Out Burger, EA Games, Adobe, Ebay, etc. Unfortunately, the education system has been taken over by the left so there aren't many professors who teach unbiased and free market economics. I know this first hand from taking economics in college and because my brother is an econ professor for a university. There are a few exceptions out there but not many. The same goes for the sciences and especially political science.
