TweetYou guys are beautiful people. I couldn't wait to get home to squeeze my kids. We have a music recital then I'm thinking some good family night.
TweetI will try not to watch too much coverage of this. When it involves innocent children, age 5-10, its just almost too much emotionally for me to handle.
What is the root cause of all this? Is it the media making these gunmen famous?
Is it movies and video games? Is it anti-depressants drugs? Is it poor parenting? Is our society going mad?
TweetI saw this this morning on the news. I ain't going to lie either, I cried knowing that my 5 year old son was sitting in school. I loved on my 2 daughters more then ever I think, and couldn't wait till my boy got home. When he came home, we all had ice cream, and yes...before dinner!
This is sickening, mental illness or not, just wrong...
TweetI can't go into detail for security reasons, but my wifes line of duty required her to read about all this and related. Let's just say she is an emotional mess. No she isn't a scummy reporter. I refused to read any articles at work because I would break down.
Please everyone, hug your kids tonight. It will make you feel better.
TweetA few days before the Clackamas Mall shooting two children ages 7 and 11 tried to carjack a woman at gunpoint, a week before that the same 11 year old pulled a knife on someone, he also was caught throwing rocks through windows at a dentist office. Today after hearing about the school shooting a teacher here at a portland school found a pistol and ammo in a students back pack. Before I heard any of the details on the radio about the shootings in Conneticut I bet myself that it was another twenty something kid.
Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

TweetParents need to be more involved.
TweetThe next airport security line will be at school. Schools will have armed guards with assault rifles and bullet proof. Metal detectors at the door of every school.
Is our culture creating these psychos ? We may never know.
The human race has been violent like this since the beginning of time. Massacres of millions of people have occurred , often in the name of religion. Humans are a violent species of animal. Always have been and always will be.
Everyone is looking for a reason for this.
I think Of those little ones, waiting to open their Christmas packages and play with their toys.
I think of the children who saw their pals shot to death. It rips your guts out.
TweetIt's numbing
TweetThis is true, but what about the people who are already working at the school? These days it is anyone who could go nuts like that and that is a scary thing.

TweetNot sure I understand your question. Everybody there is going to have some form of PTSD. Some will have severe cases of it. I cant imagine those kids and how they will be able to grow up a normal life. Children are so innocent. They should never have to endure such horror. Thats what makes this one so painful to take.
TweetTURN OFF THE NEWS.......
Morgan Freeman's take on what happened yesterday :
"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.
It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."
