  • Cross fit training

Just curious as to how many train for cross fit and/or do the cross fit inspired races like the Spartan Race, MudRun, etc? I love the cross fit idea and the races they produce! Breaks out of the norm which is always refreshing.

    Re: Cross fit training

I dont know I think my heart would explode if I jumped in a Cross Fit group. At the least a 911 call would end up being made.

I have total respect for those that can train in that fashion. Total body fitness training.

Me and my GF have been training for a couple years off and on. we love doing the mud runs and obsticle couse races! Just recently did one in ATL. The closer we get to a race the harder we train! Its Very motivational for us to have a goal or deadline to get fit as possible!

They have a Dirty Girl Mud Race coming in July and it's a non timed event. I signed up My goal is to get to a Rugged Maniac or one that's close to me My trainer isn't too big on some of the cross fit training techniques but we do work on the basic all body workout. I was thinking of joining the crossfit gym but torn because my trainer is awesome and wouldn't know what to do without him. lol

Do you also use different shoes?? I couldn't bear wearing my Asics through all that mud!! lol

That is great, good for you!!!! Always good to change things up. Could you do the crossfit and still work with the trainer a couple days for lifting?

My sister just got into this. I guess she finished week 1 which was like a introduction to it or something. I wish her and anybody else much luck!

Oh hell yeah!!! lol I'm a glutton for races like this lol It's a challenge and that's what I just love about the cross fit type of workouts. I get off on the hard stuff (no pun intended lol). But this DirtyGirl Mud Race is a non timed non competitive race which is great! There's a couple different races coming up in the fall so if I can make it through this one, I'm sure I can make it through a couple of the others
